The Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia is among the oldest and most beautiful parks in Europe. It is the largest national park in Croatia, and is home to 16 interconnected lakes that call the area between the Pljesevica Mountain and Mala Kapela Mountain their home. The lakes are completely engulfed by verdant green forests and incredible waterfalls, whose travertine-filled waters have been creating natural dams for years. It takes about six hours and an incredible amount of physical effort to explore the lakes on foot, but the enchanting atmosphere ensures that couples keep coming back for more. We recommend you to visit the Tulip Fields during spring, so that you can also enjoy the Annual Flower Parade held in Sassenheim. The best way to explore the fields is to rent bicycles and explore the numerous tulip farms that can be found in the area.
