USA Road Trip

Great way to travel the US. Great trip manager, great people, if anything maybe one more night in Vegas.

To sum it up in a few words or less is that the company offered numerous different activities that cater to the adrenaline junkie to the book worm. Really well put together.

The trip was fantastic - wide-ranging, informative, fun, and lead by an amazing team (especially !) The accomodation was generally pretty great, the bus journeys were broken up so they never felt too long, and the optional activities I did were good. The trip was perfect as I didn’t want to stress out about booking hotels and driving myself around, and there were lots of opportunities to go off and do my own thing when I wanted to.

As a previous Contiki traveller, I had high expectations for the USA Road Trip however I was slightly disappointed. We had a very small group to start with and a few extra joined for the National Parks. I would have preferred a larger group as the vibes were way off. I had food poisoning twice on this trip from a restaraunt and hotel breakfast which was included in the tour. This meant that I missed main activities and parks. In regards to food, most of the pit stops contained a lot of fast food. Breakfast at the hotels were never fresh and instead used frozen and powdered foods. The extra nights in Orlando and Denver felt unnecessary and it would have been preferred to have extra days in Vegas or one in LA. Also note that this tour does not include any tour around LA and is purely a bus ride as the final destination. I would have also liked longer or broader orientation tours of each city visited as felt rushed through in some places. As much as the trip manager and driver tried to make this tour better, I believe that Contiki need to make some changes to the overall trip inclusive of some dodgy hotels, especially considering the high price point of this tour. Overall, this trip could be done solo for less than Contiki’s cost and I probably wouldn’t travel with them again.

10/10 overall trip. Would recommend it to friend to go. Enjoyed exploring the national parks and seeing the different cities and exploring the night life was awsome.
