day 1Arrival and ride around the crater of Mount Bromo (25km)

After you arrive at the airport in Surabaya (or Malang) in East Java, our team will transfer you by car to the village of Cemoro Lawang, on the flanks of the national park of Mount Bromo. The journey takes around three hours.
Enjoy your lunch and head out for a three-hour ride down into the sea of sand and around the crater of Mount Bromo. There is quite a bit of uphill to deal with and we will take it easy because of the altitude.
Hike up the 200 steps to the top of the crater of Mount Bromo after the ride is over. Those who are up for it can carry their bike uphill and ride down from the top through the loose sand of the volcano - an amazing thrill! Our accommodation is located at 2,200 m above sea level.
Bring some warm clothes as it gets cold here at night. If you are planning to fly into Surabaya, we recommend arriving at the latest at 08:30 am so that you are able to do all the planned activities today.
