day 1Join trip in Bergen, Norway
Our journey through Scandinavia starts in Bergen, the gateway to Norway's beautiful fjord region. Known for its unparalleled natural landscapes, Bergen is surrounded by seven mountains and offers wonderful views of the fjords. The city's rich history is reflected in its charming wooden houses and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Bryggen, a historic harbour district. For those arriving in time, our tour leader will meet you in the hotel reception at 7pm for a welcome meeting, followed by dinner for those who wish. There are no activities planned today, so you're free to arrive at any time. Should you miss the meeting, our tour leader will catch you up on all essential information as soon as possible. If you'd like an airport transfer, you'll need to arrive into Bergen Airport (BGO), a short drive away from our hotel. Arriving earlier in the day? You might like to get acquainted with Bergen's Old Town, with its network of quaint, cobbled streets, or head for lunch in the trendy Bryggen district. Customer Reviews
Excellent trip which was well organised and gave the right balance of group activity and free time. The train journeys and overnight ferry crossing worked well and the fjord boat trip and flåm railway were lovely. It would be interesting to see more of Denmark and Sweden but that would make it quite a long trip, however my appetite to revisit these countries has been whetted! Paula was a very good tour leader!
This was an amazing tour, giving a glimpse of the three countries. The itinerary was really good and there was time given to explore on our own. Our tour leader Paula was wonderful- well organised and very informative. I would definitely recommend recommend this trip.
As I was unable to complete the itinerary after losing my passport, I will submit a separate review about my experience of this tour.
Our leader was organized , friendly and a problem solver . She will recommend a tweeting of the itinerary . The details on then itinerary were frequently incorrect re meals provided and free time on both the printed itinerary and app . This is a dimple fix .
The tour provided a most interesting overview of the three Scandinavian countries and was presented excellently by our tour leader and once by another guide in an urban setting. It gave a wonderful view of the landscape of each of the three countries, including mountainous areas and waterways important for interaction in different terrains. There was plenty of opportunity for us to make choices, such as experiencing a chair lift on a mountain. If anything, the tour was a little short on time to experience the three countries, but it certainly gave valuable insight into the culture and landscapes.
