day 1 - Arrival at Varanasi Airport
Arrive at Varanasi and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, proceed on a half-day temple tour of Sarnath, located 10 km from Varanasi, where Buddha preached his first sermon in the Deer Park. Sarnath contains the most impressive remains, including the Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi, and Dhamek stupas, as well as a modern temple. There are also the remains of a monastery and the beautifully polished Lion Capital of Ashoka. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
day 2 - Varanasi - Bodhgaya
In the morning, proceed to Bodhgaya, the place where Gautama Buddha attained unsurpassed, supreme Enlightenment. On arrival, check into the hotel and, after lunch, enjoy the sightseeing of Bodhgaya, which is counted among the four most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Explore the beauty of Buddhist culture and lifestyle with a stroll around this place. Visit the Great Buddha Statue, Niranjana River, and Sujata Temple. Sightseeing includes the Maha Bodhi Temple and Bodhi Tree. Visit the Chinese Temple and the school of the destitute. After your sightseeing tour, return to the hotel and stay overnight.
day 3 - Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda - Patna
In the morning, leave Bodhgaya for Patna, en route visiting Rajgir and Nalanda. Rajgir is a site of great sanctity and significance for Buddhists. It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site since Buddha spent 12 years here and the first Buddhist council after Buddha was hosted at the Saptaparni caves.
In the afternoon, visit Gridhakuta Hill and Bimbisara Jail. Drive to Nalanda, which is 14 km away and home to one of the oldest universities in the world and an international center for Buddhist studies. Continue driving to Patna, which is 90 km away. On arrival in Patna, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.
day 4 - Patna - Vaishali – Kushinagar
In the morning, proceed to Kushinagar, en route visiting Vaishali, the place where Buddha announced his approaching Mahaparinirvana. After that, continue driving to Kushinagar, the place where Lord Buddha left the world after offering an invaluable contribution to humanity through Buddhism.
On arrival in Kushinagar, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, where Buddha took his last breath, and the Rambhar Stupa, the cremation site of Lord Buddha. Overnight stay at the Kushinagar hotel.
day 5 - Kushinagar – Lumbini
In the morning, drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the birthplace of Buddha at the Maya Devi Temple. This place is blessed with serenity and natural beauty, perfectly aligning with the perception of a place where the legend was born. Overnight stay at the Lumbini hotel.
day 6 - Lumbini - Kapilavastu – Shravasti
In the morning, leave for Sravasti, en route visiting Kapilavastu, the childhood home of Gautam Buddha. After that, proceed to Sravasti, where Buddha preached most of his sermons and is said to have performed many miracles, including levitation. During the monsoon, he stayed at the Jetavana monastery on the outskirts of this town. Visit Sahet Mahet and Angulimal caves. Overnight stay in Sravasti.
day 7 - Shravasti – Lucknow Airport Drop
Depart from Sravasti in the morning for Lucknow, where you will explore historical monuments such as the Imambara and Rumi Darwaza. In the evening, transfer to Lucknow Airport for your flight to New Delhi.
