This five-day hiking trip takes you from Oaxaca to some of the small villages of the Pueblos Mancomunados â a Zapotec community tourism project in the Sierra Norte Mountains. With local guides and your handy local leader, youâll hike from village to village along rural paths and forest trails, soaking up the natural scenery of the highlands. With hard-to-access Zapotec villages, youâll leave the common tourist trail and visit local small farms, participate in a cooking class, join a pulque and tepache workshop and spend each night in a community cabin. With an Intrepid leader by your side, you can get closer to some of Mexico's favourite places, no matter how much time you have.

Thereâs the YucatĂĄn Peninsula of the guidebooks, then thereâs the one weâll show you on this activity-packed adventure. Guided by an expert tour leader, we explore the ruins of the Maya, swim in the fresh waters of a rainforest cenote, drive a classic Land Rover around a historic hacienda, discover the secrets of YucatĂĄn cuisine, and see the pink flamingos of RĂa Lagartos. We finish in the beautiful but little-known beach town of El Cuyo, the perfect end to the adventure.

What was my favorite activity while on this multiday tour? It was the zip-lining, for sure. I felt an adrenaline rush that day. Also, the scenery in the area was really nice. The whole multiday tour was nice, to be honest. There wasnât even 1 thing I disliked. What we were doing every day was exciting.

I had a fantastic time on this trip. The itinerary was well-planned and the locations were stunning. A special mention to our tour leader, who was excellent; very approachable and professional. He really helped the group bond and made the experience seamless
