A great grip with amazing food, cultural experiences, sights, activities, and people. Venice, Florence, Rome, Pisa, and Milan were amazing. I highly recommend it as a way for people to see Rome and Northern Italy.
The Expat Explore European Highlights tour in November 2024 was incredible! Every destination, from Venice's canals to Rome's ancient landmarks and Florence's Renaissance charm, was perfectly curated. The guides were knowledgeable, the itinerary seamless, and the autumn scenery breathtaking. Accommodations were comfortable, and the group dynamic made the trip even more special. Our family of 5 adults recently went to Italy on a 9 day trip to Venice, Rome and Sorrento(Amalfi Coast) with private tours, fast train travel, door to door drivers, and great accommodations; which was all set up by Michael.
Michael was very responsive to my communications, very helpful with trip suggestions to make the trip better, and just overall a great travel planner! I was nervous at first, because I have never completely booked a vacation online without ever meeting the travel planner, but it all worked out great!
We were completely happy with everything about our trip, and will definitely reach out to Michael again when we travel to Italy! There were a couple of small issues that arose over the duration of the trip, but they were handled quickly and without further problem to us. So all was good.
Our private tour guides in Rome, Ornella; and Roberta in Pompeii were incredible. Our Venice tour guide, Cynthia, was awesome too, she did a great job! We did a full day 8 hr tour in Rome of the Colosseum and Vatican, and I would recommend splitting that to two half days if you have the time. It was awesome, but a bit much for one day!! Also, we had a full day Amalfi Coast tour by van, with great driver Antonio, which was supposed to go to Positano, Amalfi, & Ravello, but because the traffic is so bad on the roads, there wasn't time to make it to Ravello. So, I recommend either going by boat, which we hear is faster, or allow more time if you want to see all three villages.

The Christmas & New Year's Eastern Highlights Tour with Expat Explore was an unforgettable experience, offering a perfect blend of festive charm, cultural discovery, and breathtaking scenery. Our driver, Alex, was fantastic as well, navigating long distances with skill and safety, making the journey stress-free.
One of the highlights of the tour was experiencing the Christmas markets across different countries. Each market had its own unique charm, from the festive decorations to the delicious seasonal treats, making the holiday spirit even more magical.
