Embarking on this iconic journey, you are invited to traverse the storied waters of the Nile, embarking from the grandeur of Cairo, where the Pyramids and Sphinx stand as eternal sentinels of Egypt's rich history. Your voyage unfolds southward, navigating through the heartland of ancient civilization, toward the enchanting realms that lie between Luxor and Aswan.
Venturing beyond the beaten path, this expedition unveils a rare opportunity. Historically inaccessible, the lower reaches of the Nile between Cairo and Abydos have long eluded the typical tourist trail. Yet, a select few now have the chance to partake in a journey that spans this lesser-trodden terrain. Few and far between are the vessels that undertake the full passage from Cairo to Luxor each year, making this voyage a truly exclusive experience.
As the ship charts its course, you'll encounter hidden gems of antiquity, such as Tel Amarna, Beni Hassan, and Hermopolis, where time seems to stand still amidst the remnants of ancient civilizations. Along the verdant banks of the Nile, glimpses of rural life unfold, offering a window into the everyday existence of the Egyptian people.
Upon reaching Luxor, the pace quickens, and the river teems with activity. Explorations on the west bank unveil the majestic Valley of the Kings, the resplendent Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, and the towering Colossi of Memnon, each a testament to the grandeur of Egypt's pharaonic past. Across the waters, the east bank beckons with the monumental Karnak and Luxor Temples, where gods and pharaohs once held court amidst towering columns and intricate hieroglyphs.
For those embarking on the extended 15-day voyage, the journey continues southward, past the ancient temples of Edfu and Komombo, toward the final destination of Aswan. Here, amidst the tranquil waters, the island temple of Philae rises in splendor, a testament to the enduring legacy of Egypt's spiritual heritage. Optional excursions beckon to the legendary temples of Abu Simbel, relocated to higher ground to escape the encroaching waters of Lake Nasser.
As the journey draws to a close, the ship bids farewell, either in Luxor following the 12-day expedition or in Aswan after the extended 15-day odyssey. From these ancient shores, travelers embark on their homeward journey, their hearts filled with the timeless echoes of Egypt's storied past, their minds enriched by the treasures unearthed along the banks of the mighty Nile.

Starting in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, we start by heading to the Skeleton Coast, before heading east all the way to Victoria Falls on the border of Zimbabwe.
Your starting point on the Namibia leg of this trip is the capital city of Windhoek and from here we'll head to Sessrium National Park and to Sossusvlei to where we'll climb up the famous Dune 45. Our next highlight is Swakopmund, known as the adventure capital of Namibia where thrilling activities, such as skydiving, sandboarding and scenic flights above the stark landscape of the mountainous dunes are available. Its unique positioning makes it ideal for supporting hundreds of species of wild birds and impressive land mammals such as lions, cheetahs, and giraffes. The Delta splits into thousands of smaller waterways, forming swamps, lagoons and small islands that we give you a chance to explore on and off the water. There are several optional safaris from our camp into the Delta both in traditional mokoro dugout canoes, and with open 4x4 safari vehicles.
Coming to the end of our trip, we cross the border into Botswana and take you to Chobe National Park, famous for its thriving elephant population, before finishing at the stunning Victoria Falls.
This overland family adventure safari holiday allows you to experience the diversity and uniqueness of the different regional cultures, discover the abundance of wildlife, and get your adrenaline flowing with exciting optional activities.
