Peru Tours and Trips 2024/2025

Home to the Peru Amazon rainforest, a sprawling coastline, and Andes mountains that seem to reach the heavens, Peru is a dream destination for nature lovers. It is a hiker’s paradise, with plenty of jaw-dropping trekking and hiking routes. Peru is as mysterious as its landmarks. It finds its way into most travelers’ wish lists for one major reason – Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. They say that the moment you see Machu Picchu for the first time from that historic trail, you suddenly realize just how rewarding traveling can be, and tend to re-discover a long-lost part of your soul.

Ideal compact trip for Machu Picchu

This trip is very well designed as a way to walk to the Sun Gate, and achieve the iconic views of Machu Picchu, without having to undergo the demanding challenge of the full Inca Trail. I had booked to do the Classic Inca Trail four years ago, but first Covid then a heart attack meant that idea was not achievable. The walk up to the Sun Gate should not be underestimated, but is eminently 'doable' for anyone of reasonable fitness. The one day trek on the Inca Trail, and the tour round the site of Machu Picchu, were marvellous, unforgettable experiences. The days spent in Cusco offer a rich cultural experience, and Peruvian cuisine is simply wonderful, high quality at astounding value.

I have just returned from an unforgettable trip to Peru, which included 4nights in the Amazon jungle, including seeing a great variety of animals, birds and plants; then we did the Inca trail with a tour of Machu Pichu and finally a home stay on a small island on Lake Titicaca

We wish to commend our Inca Trail guide Ever for his outstanding assistance during our journey. This included our sightseeing in and around Cusco, where Ever's extensive knowledge enhanced our understanding of the sights. On the trail, we also got excellent support from chef Orlando and his team of porters who do an amazing job to facilitate these treks. We were also very happy with Machu Picchu guide Daniel, who took us around on our additional tour of the ancient city, where he displayed his expert knowledge as one of the longest standing Machu Picchu guides. We also appreciated the support of all associated, especially when they made a late night effort to retrieve our luggage when it failed to show up as expected after the trek. Overall, it was a great experience made possible by the hard working staff in Peru.
