I so enjoyed the Southern Charm due to the amazing Tour Director Haydee and the wonderful 8 friends I made. I still keep in contact with them and plan to do another tour with some of them and Haydee. The excursions especially the carriage ride In Charleston and the delicious southern cooking !
Loved the local tours. The homes were charming but wish they would have shown all of the homes not just certain rooms. The seafood was delicious. The included meals were five stars. Great choices. The bus trips were good but we wish they would have included water on the bus.
My girl friend and I took a side tour to the South Carolina Aquarium that Chad recommended while most of the group went on a carriage ride and barbecue. We were able to pet sting rays and see many interesting exhibits. The other memories were when Chad brought some of us who like to hike to a bird sanctuary and saw alligators. Also he walked us one morning to the other side of Jekyll Island to see the sun rise as well as beach comb.
The tour itself was wonderful, but the airline experience was awful. Some of us went a day early to enjoy some extra time. We left our home at 2:45 am, but due to flight delays, we arrived at our hotel in Charleston around 10:30 pm and my luggage was still in Atlanta. As far as the actual tour is concerned, I enjoyed it all and I especially liked Jekyll Island.
Tour was informative and fun. Wesley was a great guide. He was knowledgable, personable, and very well organized. All the Collette meals were delicious and the accommodations were excellent. The Cambria in Savannah lacked the same charm as the Emmaline and the Jekyll Hotel but it was okay.
We heard about and saw so much history. The guides were very informative. I came away feeling more familiar with the south. We also had opportunities to explore on our own. Good trip.
