Explore northern Portugal on a six-day tour. Departing from Lisbon, discover important cities like Porto and Braga, as well as historical locations like Coimbra, Guimarães, Óbidos and Aveiro. See remarkable religious sites like the Batalha Monastery, Our Lady of Fátima Sanctuary and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Convent of Christ in Tomar. Take in views of Portuguese vineyards and coastal roads from your coach, and have plenty of free time during the day and night to discover more on your own.

Day 1 Lisboa, Óbidos, Alcobaça, Nazaré, Batalha, Fátima Hotel

We will leave Lisbon towards ÓBIDOS (stop), surrounded by medieval walls where we can admire the diversity of the handicrafts and taste the famous liqueur called “Ginginha”. We’ll continue to ALCOBAÇA (stop) dominated by the imposing church, considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO, that introduced the Gothic style in Portugal and where Pedro I and Inês de Castro rest, known for their love story. We’ll depart to Nazaré (stop), a typical fishing village with its traditions and legends. Next we’ll get the opportunity to admire the BATALHA Monastery (stop) – considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO, a masterpiece of the Gothic style in Portugal. We proceed to FÁTIMA (stop), local of the world famous Marian Shrine.

Fátima - overnight

Day 2 Fátima, Coimbra, Aveiro, Oporto Hotel

Departure towards COIMBRA (stop), site of one of the most ancient Universities in the world, with its Baroque library. In the afternoon we continue to AVEIRO (stop), city of the water canals, known as the “Portuguese Venice”, where you shall have time to taste the local sweets “Ovos Moles”. Drive to Oporto.

Day 3 Oporto Hotel

In the morning we’ll visit the city of OPORTO, located at the mouth of the Douro river, it’s the 2nd biggest city in Portugal and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We’ll discover its avenues, monuments and characteristic places including the romantic Exchange Palace, S. Francisco Church with its gilt wood work decoration, the traditional and popular Ribeira neighbourhood and we’ll visit one of the most known and traditional Port Wine Cellars where we’ll have a wine tasting of Port Wine. Free time in the afternoon.

Oporto - overnight

Day 4 Oporto, Guimarães, Braga, Barcelos, Oporto Hotel

We are going to spend a full day at the Minho region, where history, religion and legends mix with magnificent monuments, delicious gastronomy, unique wines and the symbolical rooster. Starting by GUIMARÃES (stop) - the cradle of the nation, with the Royal Castle, the Braganças Palace and the Historical Centre where its streets and architecture recalls medieval times. Next the city of BRAGA (stop) makes us feel the strength of the holy in the most ancient Cathedral of the country and at the Bom Jesus Sanctuary. After, we shall continue to BARCELOS (stop), where the legend and the ceramic made the rooster - the Portuguese icon. Return to Oporto.

Oporto - overnight

Day 5 Oporto, Amarante, Vila Real, Vale do Douro, Lamego... Hotel

Departure to AMARANTE (stop), a small town located at the banks of the Tâmega river, with its houses with colorful porches and its candy shops with delicious monastic sweets. After, we’ll drive to VILA REAL (stop) where we will visit the gardens of the Manor of Mateus. Then we’ll enter in the PORT WINE REGION, where one of the most known nectar of the Gods is made - the Porto Wine. Stop in LAMEGO (stop), overlooked by one of Portugal's most important shrines, Our Lady of Remedies. You may try some of the local delicacies such as the famous “Bola de Lamego” (a loaf baked in the oven with smoked ham). We continue to VISEU (stop), where it’s paid homage to Viriato, the first Portuguese hero. Arrival to Urgeiriça.

Urgeiriça/Caldas da Felgueira - overnight

Day 6 Urgeiriça, Bussaco, Tomar, Lisboa

We’ll drive through the heart of Portugal till BUSSACO, where the romantic Palace Hotel and its luxuriant forest stands out. We continue to TOMAR (stop), which development is closely linked to the Order of the Templars. We’ll visit the Christ Convent, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983. Return to Lisbon.

Cancellation: until 24 hours before departure - no cancellation fee. After this deadline, there is no refund.

- Tickets for children up to the age of four are free but only include transport (with any other costs incurred by the accompanying adult).
- Children aged between five and ten pay 50 % of the adult fee.
- This tour has a minimum 4 passenger requirement and is subject to cancellation if this minimum is not met.
- In the unlikely event of such a cancellation, a refund will be provided.
- Luggage is the responsibility of the client and attention should be paid when loading and unloading.
