About Intrepid Travel

Intrepid Travel was the brainchild of two individuals who followed their dreams, ignoring the distractions of the late 80s, to create something beautiful, something they both loved doing- a business model that revolved around adventure travel. What started as an epic road trip in the wild and desolate lands of Africa, soon emerged as a world-famous travel desk, one that offered unseen and unheard adventures to people around the world.

Today, Intrepid Travel is responsible for helping out more than 100,000 tourists around the world and its staff of 1000 work tirelessly to ensure that each of the 800-odd itineraries that the company runs presents the perfect balance between adventure, culture, history and natural beauty.

You’re in Good Hands
Intrepid Travel organizes itineraries across Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Australia and the Middle East. They even offer trips to the Arctic and Antarctica! No wonder that Intrepid grabbed countless awards and accolades over the years- from being the 2002 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year to winning the PATA award in the year 2007.

Small Group Adventures
You’re going to a new place, where the people, the language, the food, the customs, even the way of life feels different. As exciting as it sounds, you long to hold onto something that is relatable, something that gives your mind a sense of comfort. And this feeling of fellowship can never be found in large robot-like group tours. Exploring a destination in a small group not only lets you enjoy the personal attention of your guide, it also makes the journey more exciting, your companions more approachable.

Hassle-Free Experiences
There’s a reason we prefer to bank on the pros for all kinds of things in life- their unique skill sets, knowledge and experience lets them do the job better. The same goes for travel. Rather than doing everything yourself, relying on search engines and social media gossip only to realize that you made a colossal mistake after it’s too late, you’re better off leaving the planning and the organizing to the pros. There’s a reason why thousands depend on them after all!

Why Book With Intrepid Travel

Why Choose Intrepid Travel Listen, travel is a huge decision. Not only is it a rare moment to get away from your stressful lives to enjoy some precious me time, it is also incredibly expensive. It’s not every day that you explore the vast jungles of Africa or watch go whale watching off the coasts of Hawaii. And that’s what makes Intrepid Travel so unique. They’ve been at the top of their game for more than three decades, and no matter which nook, cranny or corner of the world you wish to explore, they’re sure to have been there and done that! They manage to balance out free time and local secrets with classic highlights and unique experiences, and this is something your search engine cannot help you with. Intrepid Travel relies on guides and travel leaders who have been born and brought up in your chosen destination, so they’re sure to offer insights and ideas that most people in the external world don’t know about. Let’s face it. Would you rely on yourself or Google when it comes to discovering a new restaurant in the neighborhood!

Well organized trek to Mount Toubkal

Well organized trekking tour, excellent value for money! Plenty of delicious food, knowledgeable and attending guide. Accommodations were also ok. Requires good physical condition. Tipping is expected basically everywhere so remember to add that on your travel budget.

Georgia with all its beauty

The Georgian adventures trip was a wonderful introduction to Georgia and the way of living. Not to forget the beautiful landscape and exhiting cities. The trip was a good mix of urban and rural areas, with enough time to get the feel of every place. Well run, and not a dull moment. The group since was perfect, and the different ways of travel a good way to see the beauty of the country.

What an adventure!

We saw a T-shirt in Africa that said “it’s not a holiday, it’s an adventure!“ This sums up exactly what this trip is about. Although it took some stamina to camp the entire time and the bus trips were long to get from destination to destination, this was an adventure like no other. Spinning, two nights roughing it in Okavango Delta was magical and we heard lions roaring at night. Our guides were outstanding and the food was better than I could possibly expect, especially since our cook did it all in a campground the safari walks and drives did not disappoint! Because we were there in July, the nights were bitterly cold, but we stayed cozy in the tents. This is definitely a trip for those seeking authentic adventure, but not for those who are uncomfortable with idea of sleeping in a tent for 10 days. Our Guide Pappy was, always so patient and so thorough with all of us and was a wealth of knowledge about the region. I love this trip, but it definitely is not for those unused to roughing it or are expecting luxury.
