Introducing Serbia
Believe it or not, there are still off-the-beaten-path destinations in Europe. One of them is Serbia, in the east, the country of raspberries and Belgrade. This country offers nature and history, and its visitors leave enchanted. You can go back to the time of monks in the many monasteries or enjoy 14th-century fortresses. There are Roman sites like Gamzigrad and even skull towers, dating back to the Ottomans. In one country, you can see different eras of the world, all packed neatly. Just as neat are the canyons and the rivers.

When to go to Serbia
The best seasons to go on an adventure to Slovenia are spring (March – May) and fall (September – October). You will avoid the heat of summer (June – August) and the crowds at the most famous historical sites and places. Spring and fall have milder temperatures and you will enjoy your time around historic destinations and even hiking if you’d like. If you prefer the snow, winter is your season, but the temperatures can drop below zero. As long as you have your wool hat, you’ll be fine.
How long to stay in Serbia
If you are planning a personalized adventure to Serbia, keep in mind that the capital, Belgrade, has a lot to offer. So, plan to stay at least three days. Any extra day and you will have time to get out of the capital and enjoy popular destinations like the Drina River House and the Golubac Fortress. If you have two weeks for your tailormade tour to Serbia, then you can truly discover the country and meet its people and try the delicious ćevapi, a grilled dish of minced meat.
Must-visit destinations in Serbia
After you’ve spent time exploring Belgrade’s museums and the ruins of the Yugoslav Army Headquarters, it’s time to check out the beauty of Serbia. You can start at Krupaj Spring in Milanovac, an oasis of turquoise waters and caves. If water is your element, then you can’t miss the Uvac River Meanders, a winding valley of mountain peaks and looping arches. Natural erosion created the Meanders and it also created Devil's Town Rock Formation. The Hermitage of Saint Sava will take you back in time, specifically to 1183.
