You also have the option to revel in the opportunity to discover the interior of one of these legendary structures and marvel at the massive stones used to construct them.

See the Great Sphinx of Giza before having your lunch at a local restaurant. Then visit Sakkara, located 27 kilometers to the southwest of Cairo. Visit the Step Pyramid of Sakkara (built for king Djoser). This monument is considered an important part of the process of the pyramid evolution and it is considered to be the first stone construction ever built by his genius vizor Imhotep.

Head for Memphis city, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the famous Alabaster Sphinx are. This city dates back to 3100 BC. See the great statue of King Ramses II, the biggest man-made statue made for a king, and also see the statue of Queen Hatshepsut. Call it a day on reaching your hotel in Cairo.

Moving through the beautifully designed galleries, you gain a vivid and unforgettable glimpse into the world of the pharaohs.

Your tour at the Grand Egyptian Museum is followed by lunch after which you will head out to discover the Coptic Cairo that is contained within the boundaries of a Roman fortress. For three hundred years, from the conversion of emperor Constantine until the arrival of Islam, Egypt was a Christian nation and the Coptic church is one of the oldest communions as well as the church that really pioneered austere monasticism in remote deserts. There are still tens of thousands of Coptic Christians in Egypt, many of whom live in this part of the capital. Their most famous church is that of El Muallaqa, the Hanging Church, built over one of the gateways into the old fortress with its nave suspended above the passageway. This whole area is a world-famous destination among Christian pilgrims.
