Itinerary

Lions, panthers, cheetahs, elephants and a variety of wild animals meander lazily on grassy plains while Masai warriors watch out for their herds of cattle from a distance. Join us on this short, three-day trip to explore two of Tanzania's most famous nature reserves: Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Serengeti is Africa's most famous wildlife reserve. Known for its incredible concentration of predators and the great migration of two million wildebeest, the endless, grassy plains of this national park are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Ngorongoro, on the other hand, is known for a dense concentration of wildlife in a relatively small area as well as its volcanic caldera.

Your journey starts with a pickup from Moshi on Day 1 of this guided tour. Head for Serengeti where you will enjoy a half-day game drive before moving on to Ngorongoro. Spend more than six hours exploring the bowl-shaped reserve before transferring to your hotel in Moshi.

Please note that the tour price also includes two night's accommodation in Moshi, one night each before and after the trip. For more details, please scroll down.

day 1 - Moshi – Serengeti National Park

Leave Moshi at around 5:00 am in the morning and head for Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is one of those very rare places that, despite its huge reputation, still somehow manages to surpass expectations and take your breath away.

Populated with a large variety of mammals and surrounded by tribes such as the Maasai and the Hadzabe, the endless plains of Serengeti are fascinating from a cultural perspective as well. A tour of the park is followed by a transfer to your accommodation

Stay overnight at Serengeti in KatiKati Campsite or similar.

Accommodation: Camping
Meals:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 2 - Half-day safari in Serengeti National Park & transfer to Ngorongoro

Breakfast in the morning is followed by a half-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. This park covers an area of 14,763 square kilometres. The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai language and means 'endless plains'. A variety of wildlife like lions, Thompson and Grant gazelles, zebras, buffalos, hippos, elephants and cheetahs call this park home.

Drive to Ngorongoro after the game drive is over. You will overnight in Simba Campsite or similar.

Accommodation: Camping
Meals:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

day 3 - Ngorongoro Crater – Moshi

Descend into the crater with a lunch box after breakfast and enjoying a six-hour game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos.

Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the crater supports a vast variety of animals like wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos and giant African elephants. Another big draw is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard.

We will leave Ngorongoro late in the afternoon and drive you back to your hotel in Moshi for dinner and overnight stay.

Tonight's accommodation in Moshi is included in the tour price.
