This 6-day Cambodia tour starts in the capital city of Phnom Penh, before we head north-west to Siem Reap and the ancient temples and forests situated around Angkor Wat. Our journey through Phnom Penh takes us to the Toul Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, where we'll learn about Cambodia's troubled past before making our way to its Royal Palace, the impressive Silver Pagoda and the National Museum. From Phnom Penh, we make our way through rural Cambodia, passing farmlands and beautiful countrysides along the way, before stopping at a local market which is famed for selling spiders and other unique delicacies. We'll also head to a stone carving workshop. Once we arrive in Siem Reap, we'll travel up the hills of Kulen Mountain, where we'll meet our homestay hosts who will guide us through the surrounding forests, searching for waterfalls and animal statues. Once we return to Siem Reap, we'll visit the temples of Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, which is being reclaimed by the jungle which surrounds it. Our final evening sees us head out of a street food tour and you have the option to add a few additional half day tour options on your final day, or extend your time in Siem Reap. Private tours: This tour can also be run privately on any date, and customised to fit your personal requirements and budget.

Phnom Penh Small Group City Tour

On this small-group tour, visit the most highlighted sites of the city and learn about its history. Discover the great palaces and pagodas, visit the Royal Palace of Cambodia, see the 5,329 silver tiles of the Silver Pagoda, and visit the infamous Tuol Sleng Museum. Today, you will join a group tour and your guide will pick up from a few different hotels, so the pickup time is variable between 7:30am to 8:30am. Located on the western banks of the Tonle Sap and Mekong River, the palace complex features stunning Khmer architecture, divided into 4 main compounds. The grounds of the palace are also home to the Silver Pagoda, which received its name because its floor is made of 5,329 silver tiles. Learn about the Khmer kings, resident at all times, with the exception of the period when the Khmer Rouge took control in 1975. See gold and jeweled Buddha statues in the Silver Pagoda, and the Angkor Wat style Bell Tower. Then, learn about the turbulent years of the Khmer Rouge at the infamous Tuol Sleng Museum. Located in a former high school that was used as the notorious Security Prison 21, the Genocide Museum traces the story of the Killing Fields and the torture and executions that took place from 1975-79. See exhibits that tell the stories of some of the estimated 20,000 prisoners that were killed. Return to the city center and get stunning views of the Tonle Sap and Mekong River Side before tour ends. This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Absolutely fabulous trip! 10/10 always. Our TM was THE BEST! I Love Conitkis make travel matter experiences. They always make the trip feel like your there for a reason. It is so amazing helping the country, the people & the wildlife. This trip included some very heavy history and the most beautiful of Temples. And the food, omg! The food! Travelling during off season was so nice as the popular tourist destinations were less crowded but we definitely got stuck in the rain a few times. Take a poncho! 😊 thank you Contiki for my 4th and best trip yet! It over exceeded any expectations I had before the trip. Everyday was fabulous with a beautiful blend of outings, travel, party, karaoke, beers, food & the best of friends ever. 🙏

A highly enjoyable trip that is superior to other offerings. The most distinct advantage of this tour is walking through Vietnam in a comfortable manner and pace. The tour explores villages in Vietnam that highlight both the rural life and natural beauty in various parts of Vietnam (North, Central, South). The second part of the tour that covers Cambodia adds a cultural element to the entire trip that is somewhat lacking in Vietnam. The entire experience is enhanced by small group sizes.
