day 1 - Welcome to Salvador
Welcome to Bahia!
Our team will pick you up at the airport or bus station and take you to your hotel.
day 2 - Afro Bahia Tour and São Joaquim Fair
On the second day, we will have a historical immersion in Afro-Brazilian culture, exploring its music, religions, cuisine, and ending the day at the Lacerda Elevator, one of Bahia’s most famous landmarks.
We will start the day with a percussion workshop, where we will be introduced to the rhythms of the rum, rumpi, and lê atabaques, which are used in candomblé ceremonies. As we learn African rhythms, we’ll also get to experience their instruments, such as the tambourine, atabaque, and drums, feeling the enchanting energy of the beats.
At the end of the workshop, we’ll move on to a capoeira class, where we will have the chance to learn more about the history of this art form, as well as the basic movements and ginga of capoeira, all accompanied by tambourine and berimbau, creating the traditional capoeira circle.
After the class, we will take public transportation to the São Joaquim Market, the most traditional in Bahia, where we will dive into the culinary and cultural scene of Salvador, tasting typical dishes and exploring exotic stalls, as well as those dedicated to Afro-Brazilian rituals.
We will end our day with a visit to one of Bahia’s most iconic landmarks, the Lacerda Elevator, the first urban elevator in the world. It connects the lower city to the upper city, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Bay of All Saints, Mercado Modelo, and the São Marcelo Fort.
day 3 - Salvador City Tour
On the third day, we will take a historical tour of Salvador, visiting the city’s main tourist attractions and enjoying the local beauty. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours.
We will begin the tour at the Farol da Barra, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, located in the Bay of All Saints. It was built in 1698 to assist ships arriving there and helps tell the story of slavery during Brazil’s Colonial period.
Continuing our tour, we will pass through the Corredor Vitória and Campo Grande, iconic sites of the Bahian carnival, serving as a route for the electric trios and leading to the historic center of Salvador.
The Historic Center will take you back in time to Colonial Brazil, with its narrow streets, slopes, old mansions, squares, and churches. The Pelourinho, Museums, and Galleries add a special touch to the tour, where we will visit the Terreiro de Jesus, São Francisco Church, Museum of Mercy, Olodum House, and the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of Black People, concluding our tour.
day 4 - Free day, folk show and dinner
On the fourth day, you will have the morning and afternoon free to enjoy the city as you prefer or to rest and wait for the dinner with a folkloric show that we will attend in the evening.
In this show, we will witness performances of Bahia’s cultural folk manifestations, an event full of lights, music, and movement. There will be performances of Maculelê, Xaxado, Orixás Dance, Puxada de Rede, Samba, and Capoeira Circle, all of which will enchant you with the local culture.
Right after the show, a typical dinner will be served, featuring traditional elements of Bahian cuisine.
day 5 - Bye-bye Salvador!
We have reached the end of our trip and will say goodbye to Bahia with much longing. Our team will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport or bus station.
See you next time!
