After arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

This morning you will drive to the small but beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. Lunch is at the lodge.

Lake Manyara National Park is a magical and scenic area with a horseshoe-shaped driving route through wooded pathways that wind between the banks of the alkaline soda water lake and the impressive rise of the Great Rift escarpment. Although it is small, there are no fewer than five different vegetation zones and a vast variety of wildlife in the park. It is excellent for bird watching and a good area to find elephant and flamingo, as well as the potential of spotting the legendary tree-climbing lions.

In the afternoon, you will have go on a game drive in the park, driving through its diverse habitats – grasslands, forests, marshlands, scrub and parklands, punctuated by acacia trees. Have your camera ready while looking for lions and large herds of elephants.

This morning you will go on another game drive in Manyara.

After lunch at your lodge, you will drive to Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact caldera.

Ngorongoro is a deep crater created by the collapsed cone of a volcano. It contains a hidden world of wildlife - a true Garden of Eden. A beautiful highland forest covers the 2,000-foot-deep sheer sides of the caldera, a spectacular barrier encircling and protecting the plains wildlife living on the crater floor.

Although the floor is only 100 square miles, it is home to around 30,000 animals -zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, wart hog, and elephant, to name just a few, along with a high concentration of predators, including leopard and some of the finest black-maned lions in Africa.

Thousands of flamingos flutter and shimmer like a pink heat haze on the soda lake in the middle of the crater. You may spot the rare and elusive black rhinoceros, one of Africa’s most endangered species. Take great photographs of the wildlife against the spectacular backdrop of the crater’s forest covered walls.

Enjoy an early breakfast before descending to the short grass prairies of the Crater, a morning unlike any other you will experience in Africa. Enjoy a picnic lunch among the hippos and birds.

After lunch, you will visit a Maasai village to gain cultural insight into the lifestyle of these nomadic cattle herders. The Maasai have peacefully coexisted with wildlife here for hundreds of years.

Overnight: Lemala Ngorongoro camps

Depart Ngorongoro after breakfast and drive to the Serengeti, one of the most magnificent parks in Africa. Lunch is at your lodge. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Serengeti National Park is arguably the most famous national park in the world. Its abundance of game is legendary. Established in 1951, and covering an area of almost 6000 square miles, an area comparable to the state of Connecticut, the Serengeti hosts a fantastically diverse ecosystem.

The principal attraction of the Serengeti is the Great Migration across the vast open grasslands, when 1.5 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebra, gazelle and other game that follow close behind make their way across the plains, stalked by the inevitable predators who make the most of the moving feast.

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with meals at your lodge.

This morning, you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip (with picnic lunch) for your flight to Zanzibar. Once in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to your beach hotel.

Zanzibar is a beautiful island with pristine, untouched beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Enjoy your days doing as much or as little as you please on this idyllic island.

You might choose to take an optional trip to explore the old Stone Town, a spice farm or Jozani Forest to see the Red colobus monkey which is endemic to Zanzibar (tours not included). Alternatively, you may prefer to just relax or enjoy snorkeling, windsurfing or diving (at additional costs).

Overnight: La gemma dell Est

Morning after breakfast at 9:30 picked up to guided prison island tour whereby you will be taken to stone town where you will find your special boat to Prison Island.

In Prison Island you will find an old historical prison where slaves were kept. You will then have lunch at the Prison Island restaurant.

After lunch, you can go snorkeling in the sea. The Prison Island tour ends when the boat takes you back to stone town for your guided historical tour and later shopping.

Relax, unwind and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar. Explore the city areas and and the Forozani gardens.

You will be transferred back to Zanzibar Airport to catch your flight to Arusha/Dar es Salaam, and then connect with your international flight home.
