I went on a private 3-day tour of Mexico City with Vibe Adventures and our guide, Jorge, and it was absolutely amazing! The tour took us to the national anthropology museum, the historic center, Xochimilco, Coyoacan and its Frida Kahlo museum, and the incredible Teotihuacan ruins. Jorge was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Mexican history and culture, which made the tour even more interesting. Visiting the National Anthropology Museum was a highlight, as we got to see artifacts from ancient civilizations. Exploring the historic center, Xochimilco, and Coyoacan allowed us to experience the city's vibrant culture and beautiful surroundings. The trip to the Teotihuacan ruins was breathtaking, and Jorge's explanations made it easy to understand the significance of this ancient site.

We recently embarked on a private 3-day tour of Mexico City with Vibe Adventures, and it exceeded all our expectations! Over the course of the three days, we explored fascinating landmarks such as the historic Zocalo, the magnificent National Palace, and the awe-inspiring Templo Mayor. We also ventured into the vibrant neighborhoods of Coyoacan and Xochimilco, immersing ourselves in the local atmosphere and indulging in delicious street food. This tour provides a good way to travel from Palenque onward to Tikal, visiting two fabulous Maya sites along the way. The travel in Mexico was first-rate, although the cabin in the Lancandon jungle was quite basic. Private bath, but no hot water. And the stay there was not a culturally interesting one. It was just a room for the night. Once across the border, transportation is by colectivo, and it's a bumpy and slow 5 hours to Flores. But still, if I had to choose again, I would definitely take this tour.

I liked the ruins, but I wish we had more time there. The drivers and guide on the walk did not speak English, which is not their fault, but it did complicate things. The stay in the Lacandon village was advertised as ‘learn about the culture of indigenous Lacandon people’, but there was none of that, in my opinion. I did not feel particularly welcome to be honest. It made me wonder if the people of the eco-camp should maybe consider a career change, because working with tourists does not seem to be something they really enjoy. The surroundings were beautiful and the swim at the waterfall was great though. After lunch we had to wait for the van back to Palenque for three hours, although in the description it was said we would drive back ‘after lunch’. The time-frame here is open to interpretation, I guess. I have to stress that the experience was not overall negative, but there most definitely is room for improvement, especially regarding the overnight stay in the village.

We had a great time with Rob during our Philly History Tour. He pointed out so many interesting things and was patient with us when we were a few minutes getting there (oops!). It was so awesome to wrap up the tour at the brewery and talking with Rob more. We'd recommend it to anyone! Had a blast!

This tour is a fabulous way to get to grips with the immigrant origins of New York and America as well as the present day sights and sounds of the lower east side!
