Cinque Terre and Portofino I loved this trip, the scenery was stunning and definitely worth the hike up to get the best views. The Piccolo Hotel was situated about 50 yards from the Beach which was great for when we got back and could pop in for a quick swim and to ease to achy legs. Not forgetting the daily Gelato. My only criticism was I felt my room was very basic, it was also dark, the air conditioning only worked when the windows and shutters were closed. Unfortunately no natural daylight which was a shame as there were some lovely rooms. I had paid £400 for the single room supplement, I wouldn’t have been happy having to share with someone. On the upside the breakfasts were amazing, plenty of choice.
This like many of the exodus trips did not disappoint. What a welcome from our local rep Dorien , despite the heat of the day he was smiling all the time. the trip starts quietly in Tirana then moves into the mountains, fough roads even river beds we got through to the wonderful area around Theth, magnificent in a rugged way. Then the walks start, if you are not fit these next three days will find you out, up hill and more, but the scenery and view is worth it.
The trip brings you to Berat with it`s wonderful cafe culture with long boulevards.
This largely undiscovered country and its people are so welcoming and friendly that it was a sad day when this holiday came to an end.
My husband and I came on this tour after asking a friend to include us in her group of seasoned travelers. I kept thinking then if I did the right thing because I learned this is a fast-paced tour and we might not keep up. And, AM I EVER SO GLAD AND GRATEFUL WE CAME! The tour took us to 11 countries with varied, unique, and interesting interests to offer on their own. I was mesmerized and truly enjoyed the majestic and picture-perfect beauty of the Swiss mountains on our Journey to the Top of Europe - Jungfrau. What Switzerland alone has to offer makes the tour all worth it! Most of all learning or rediscovering something about ourselves, enjoying life and new experiences, making new friends and forging relationships, as well as finding more Filipinos living and working all over the world, even in far-flung places, makes it a very heartwarming story of lifetime memories in my books. Thank you to our top-notch tour crew - the tour leader Gustavo Nuno Gomes and the pilot behind the wheel, Pascal Kok for the best team-up ever. We really enjoyed and appreciated all your efforts and service in making this tour a wonderful experience. Kudos also to Expat Explore for putting up together tours worthy of every penny! ~Cecilia G.~
