Itinerary
Galapagos land tours don’t get more immersive than the 'South Galapagos Island Hopping' trip. Perfect for active travelers and wildlife enthusiasts, this guided tour explores the lesser-visited corners of the archipelago at your own pace.
Journey to Santa Cruz, North Seymour, Española, and San Cristobal, where you’ll walk alongside giant tortoises, swim with hammerhead sharks and sea turtles at Kicker’s Rock, and spot rare waved albatrosses at their exclusive nesting grounds. Each day reveals a new perspective on the islands’ unique biodiversity.
The USP? Unmatched access to the Galapagos’ hidden gems—offering a more intimate, flexible alternative to traditional boat-based tours.
day 1Explore the Santa Cruz highlands; walk among tortoises
Upon arrival in Galapagos, take a bus to the Itabacca Channel. On the other side, a driver will wait for you and drive you to your hotel.
Later in the afternoon you will join a shared tour to the highlands. The highlands of Santa Cruz are lush green and a beautiful contrast to much of the dry, lower island. The deep green color is created by the dominant vegetation in the highlands, the Scalesia trees.
Afterwards go on a short ride to a 600-acre private reserve. Giant Galapagos tortoises freely roam, graze and sleep in the area. Walking among the wild tortoises will be one of the most treasured moments of your trip.
After visiting these prehistoric creatures in their natural habitat, we’ll take a 5-minute ride to the entrance of a 450-meter (1,350 feet) illuminated lava tunnel. With a ceiling nearly 20-feet high in most places, this is an incredible opportunity see lava stalagmites, stalactites, sulfur, mineral-coloured walls and the rippled floor along this unique lava formations.
