The itinerary was great - unfortunately I could not say the same for our guide - it was hard to find her in the Hotel to begin with- concierge did not know where they were. When boarding our coach there was no access to water- they were showing sustainability & not using plastic bottles etc - yet our guide had a plastic bottle. ? It was difficult to know what was on each day - emails didn’t arrive til after 10:30pm - too late . Commentary on the coach was all read from a phone & not always relevant . I understand this was Leah’s first time on this route but It was meant to be a luxury tour. The Rocky Mountaineer train was terrific with great commentary from the staff there. Other people had said they had been on Lucury Gold before ( to other destinations) & were very impressed but disappointed with this particular trip. I would be hesitant to take another Luxury Gold trip.
There were too many on your own meals without help lining up.
An itinerary for each day would be helpful. After hearing such good things about Luxury Gold tours it was very disappointing. Our guide although very nice seemed out of her depth on information and all knowledge's was read from her phone. We were often left wondering what was happening next and emails after 10.30pm often to late to be read! *personal info removed by Feefo* on the other hand was very good whilst she was with us. Unfortunately I would not be able to give you a five star recommendation and we shall advise our travel agent know.
For the most part the itinerary was good, we had many good experiences such as the gondola rides, the ice fields, the lakes and the tour of Vancouver. The tour of Banff consisted of seeing a waterfall and the Fairmont from across the river. We had almost 2 hours in Banff to tour on our own. We visited a lake in Jasper and then had 2 hours downtown to eat and shop. We took a cab back to the Fairmont Jasper to spend time there instead. In Vancouver our tour guide thought the bus left at 9:30 instead of 10 so we got to the Indigenous Restaurant and had to eat quickly to get to the Harbour tour on time. We ate our dessert on the bus. We had a dinner planned in Jasper for our first night there. We were to be in the lobby by 5:45. We waited for quite awhile and was told that there was some sort of confusion and the dinner would be the following day. We arrived for the dinner the next night at 6:00 and was told it didn’t start til 6:30. We came back at 6:30 and ordered drinks which we paid for. Our tour guide arrived a bit later with 2 free drink tickets. I didn’t need another drink by that time. There were a few glitches like that on this trip. I don’t feel like our tour guide was prepared for this particular trip. She did not provide a lot of information as we traveled from place to place.
The Canadian Rockies and mountain lakes are absolutely stunning. Well worth the visit. The Majesty of the Rockies tour also included visits to Banff, Jasper, the Columbia Ice Fields, and Vancouver which were also enjoyable. The highlight of the trip was a 2 day ride on the Rocky Mountaineer which really showcased the “majesty” of Canada’s mountains and lakes. Food was great everywhere. Wife and I really enjoyed this tour. Highly recommend.
