I did a 7-day Kilimanjaro trek via the Rongai Route in December and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish.
The landscapes along the Rongai Route were breathtaking, with beautiful and constantly changing scenery at every camp. It was one of the most memorable holidays I’ve ever had. It was less crowded so it felt like absolutely exclusive.
The crew was outstanding: Bakari the mountain guide, Mojo created amazing food Mama Africa, and a hardworking, friendly team of porters who supported me all the way to the summit. Thanks to them, I successfully reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and fulfilled a lifelong dream.

My wife and I haven't spent much time in Tanzania, so I picked up this 2-day hike + safari package - and honestly, it was the highlight of our trip.
The first day walking the Kilimanjaro Light Trail to reach the Maundi Crater - mind-blowing in a word! And the next day I saw lions, elephants, giraffes in Tarangire National Park in front of my eyes. The guide was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Everything is on time and hassle-free.
In my opinion, perfect for those who do not want to walk more, or have less time!

This is by far the best route for climbing Kilimanjaro. Days 3-6 go up & down to get you acclimatized before summitting on day 7. Don't do it any shorter than 8 days.
Our trip to Tanzania was well curated by this company. From our first chats with Joan, we felt comfortable to proceed with booking with this company. Booking with local company makes us feel the great contribution to the local economy. Our guide was very helpful and informative, he did everything he could to make us comfortable and informed. The safari camp, Suenos was best and in the center of wilderness, with greater views of wildlife. It was amazing to here the sound of animals at mid-night and we will never forget this experience. One thing of note is flexibility the company have on planing of our trip. We will get back to this company again and again when we travel to Tanzania again. "The most breathtaking experiences courtesy of this local tour operator. The safari gave my family an opportunity to connect with local communities. We visited a nearby village and had the chance to interact with the friendly locals, learning about their culture, traditions, and way of life. It was a humbling experience that enriched our understanding of the region.
The sunset game drive was incredible, as the golden sun dipped below the horizon, we found ourselves surrounded by the enchanting sounds of nature. The air was filled with the calls of birds, the distant roar of lions, and the rustling of leaves as animals emerged for their evening activities. It was a truly magical moment that I will cherish forever.
Finally, the food and hospitality throughout the safari were exceptional. From delicious traditional meals to refreshing sundowner drinks in the bush, every aspect of our stay was meticulously taken care of. Visiting Tanzania in April and choosing Habari Adventure was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I landed to the final goodbye, everything was smooth, professional, and deeply heartfelt.
I took on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and though the mountain tested every part of me, the Habari team was great at every step. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and caring, always checking in and keeping the team spirit alive with their encouragement. The porters were heroes-cheerful, strong, and full of heart. And the meals! Every bite gave me energy and comfort, especially when the altitude and cold got tough.
Summit night was the hardest and most emotional part of the journey, but also the most magical. Reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise, with the sky painted in gold, was a moment of pure triumph. I couldn't have done it without the love and support of the Habari crew.
Beyond the mountain, I also went on a short safari-and again, Habari delivered a soul-stirring experience. From spotting elephants and lions to peaceful sunsets over the savannah, I felt connected to nature in a way I never imagined possible. The guide was passionate and deeply knowledgeable, and the camping setup made me feel both adventurous and safe.

The Rongai route begins at the remote northern side of Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border. We will be hiking through a true wilderness area towards the jagged Mawenzi Peak then cross a barren desert before climbing up Kibo’s eastern crater wall. The Rongai route is a more slow ascent and is therefore preferred by those with little or no backpacking experience but is equally enjoyable for even the most hardened Kilimanjaro climbers.
During the climb you will have 5 nights of full-service camping, with a private toilet tent. There is a large communal tent, which is used for dining and at other times in the event of inclement weather. Limited single accommodation is also available and includes a single tent as well as the hotel nights.
We can arrange extra accommodation before or after the trip if needed.

Fantastic guides, porters, team. Great value for what you pay. Without this fanatastic team my father and I would not have made it to Uhuru peak. Great communication and service by Noel and his staff. We also did a 3-day safari with a professional and very knowledgeable guide/driver. Tiloma lodge was beautiful and great quality service/food.
