The African Wildlife Explorer Cape Town to Victoria Falls trip is an exciting adventure and excellent value! While there are some long driving days, this is what allows for the ability to see so much beautiful scenery and wonderful wildlife. Our guide, Misheck, was very knowledgeable and an excellent driver, and did a good job of keeping the group together and on time during the many activity-filled days. All of the resorts were very nice, and some absolutely wonderful, as was the food. We saw loads of wildlife, beautiful scenery and fascinating scenes of daily life of the local people. Highly recommended!
The trip was exactly as advertised. Our guide, Shumba, and driver, Willard, were great. They explained things well, were knowledgeable, and prepared us daily for the next day. Saw lots of animals! Unfortunately no leopards, but did see a black rhino.
A fantastic trip which was excellent value for money. Our guides, who were with us throughout, were very knowledgeable and worked incredibly hard. The locations were outstanding and the wildlife was superb.
Pioneers is a great hotel, shame that it's a little way out of town and you need to use a taxi to get anywhere (10 USD each way) Our guide, Matt was excellent. He met us at the airport, dropped us back there on departure and guides us on our visit to the falls. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with just the right balance of information about the falls and Zimbabwe. We recommend dinner at Dusty Road, lunch at the Look Out cafe (opportunity to watch the zip lines over the gorge) and a Sunset Dinner Cruise. These were all suggested and reserved for us by the hotel. Practical: 55 USD per person for visa payable in cash at airport passport control before you can access an ATM. Our experience was that everything is paid for in US dollars although euros and rand are apparently acceptable, credit cards carry a 3% surcharge. Food and drink prices are much the same as UK
Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River valley is one of the most incredible sights in the world. The guided walk from the Zimbabwe side was interesting with many spectacular viewing points along the way. Be prepared to be soaked by spray! The Pioneers is a beautiful, restful hotel, a short taxi ride from the falls. The staff, food and service were excellent. There are many activities to book in the area and staff from the hotel are happy to offer advice. The taxi drivers offer excellent service wherever you choose to go. Above all, a safe and wonderful short break.
The tour was amazing. The most memorable experience was the tented camp, with Elephants drinking from the pool. Monkeys everywhere and being able to look out the doors and see wildlife all around.
