Fast paced and saw a lot. Not in depth but more a taster identifying areas that may be worth revisiting. Accommodation was of a pretty good standard overall. Overnight train was an interesting experience. Our tour leader was excellent and really made the trip special.

Interesting places and history. All travel connections managed efficiently by tour leader. “Full on” with much travelling. Not all city tours of great interest. Some could have been replaced with a map!

This tour provides a great introduction to Slovenia. The time spent in Triglav is busy with plenty to do and see whilst the couple of days on the coast are more relaxed. Hotels are generally fine, and although the one in Ljubljana isn't as good as the others it's clean and convenient.

This was a good trip at the start of the Summer season in Slovenia and as such it wasn't too busy and the weather was perfect. The itinerary was very good. Slovenia is a very clean and safe country with some great scenery and cuisine. The Explore leader Lukas was excellent and everything went like clockwork.

Gregor was very friendly , approachable and knowledgeable on many levels . He engaged well with our group , as well as local people running businesses, cafes etc

I have travelled a lot, and am now less interested than I was in "the sights" of new countries - architecture, mosques, temples, cathedrals etc - but more interested in the culture, politics, landscape and nature. On this trip we had many local guides in all seven countries and thirteen cities that we visited, and through them learned much of the culture: we also received an unprecedented sample of views from all sides in the warfare of the 1990s, following the disintegration of Yugoslavia. The Balkans are often held up as an example of "impossible to understand politics", but I now feel that I have at least absorbed a firm grounding in the basics of their politics, culture and relationships of the past 100 years.
