After lunch we'll visit either the Unexploded Ordnance Museum (UXO Museum) Visitor's Centre*, which documents the devastation that Laos suffered during the Second Indochina War, or peruse local crafts at Ock Pop Tok, which brings the fascinating world of traditional Lao handicrafts alive for guests. After that, we’ll explore the 16th century Wat Visoun Temple, known for its enormous stupa and its collection of old gilded Buddhas. This is a great tour for exploring Laos for the fist time. Each city has a different feel and adventures. The guide was very flexible with the daily activities and would add or change as the group desired. It would’ve great to have activities added as part of the tour in Vang Viera. Also, one restaurant that was chosen by the leader was not one eaten at by locals and had a lot of American food which was not desirable by the group. Would go on another tour with explore.

What a great trip! Laos has the most extraordinary people. They are so kind and gentle. We loved riding the train. The motels were great, the outdoor activities were so much fun and the historical sites and temples were very interesting. Our guides Ning and Sac were outstanding and organized. Fabulous trip, well balanced, varied and well thought out itinerary. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Accommodation was overall very good. Excellent Explore guide and local guides. Despite it being a “full on” paced trip I felt there was a good amount of down time providing opportunities to either have a massage, visit an elephant sanctuary (luang prabang) or browse around the local markets to buy local crafts. Loved it!! Whole trip was enhanced by being in a wonderful group
