Laos Eco Tours

This was a lovely and varied trip through very beautiful and rural Laos to the amazing temples of the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia. It was a mix of beautiful hilly countryside and jungle, amazing waterfalls, cultural sights, incredible temples, and monasteries and cruises on the Mekong. We visited small remote villages, and cycled around sleepy and picturesque island of Don Khon in the 4000 islands area. Our guide was excellent and accomodation was good and often very well or beautifully located (but not always quite up to Western standards as Laos and Cambodia are developing countries.) It is a full on trip with some very early starts and long bumpy driving days. Also if you have dodgy knees, please be aware that many of the temples and waterfalls require climbing up and down sometimes a couple of hundred and more rough and uneven steps. But the guides do help you and you can take your time, and you can always opt out but still be in beautiful countryside and view from the bottom. Also take roll- on deodorant and insect repellant as you will not be allowed aerosol sprays on the train journey to Vientaine. I would thoroughly recommend this trip.

I enjoyed every moment of the trip. The daily itinerary was very varied and well lead by our guide Tra and his assistant guides in Laos. The hotel's were well chosen and conveniently situated for independent sightseeing. I thoroughly enjoyed the included farewell meal, the best vegetarian food all trip!

We were lucky to accompany the team on our trip to this Indochina island. I appreciate your expertise and enthusiasm. Every destination has its own impressions thanks to the enthusiastic introduction of the tour guide. In his free time, he suggested places to eat and shop. Overall, I am satisfied with this trip.

Really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Jackie was superb, well organised and always positive. One of the best Explore guides we've ever had! I would slightly change the itinerary on the first day in Vientiane. I would include the Buddha Park as part of the itinerary and go straight there for lunch from the Victory Gate rather than have a 45 minute break at the hotel, as it was too rushed at the Buddha Park.

We have just returned after 15 days through four destinations in Southeast Asia. The team organized the trip perfectly. We visited most of the highlight attractions. The culture, history, and cuisine in all four countries were rich and diverse. I was especially impressed by the Vietnamese food and the temples in Thailand. I hope we will have more time to explore Cambodia and Laos in the future. We will definitely choose them again for our next adventure in Southeast Asia. Highly recommended!

Our tour was an incredibly enjoyable and memorable experience, especially considering that it was the first run of the tour. I learned a lot about both countries and felt 100% invested in and part of the experiences, food, people and places. Something outside of your control that would have enhanced the experience was more tour members. We only had 4 guests, and there was a lot of together time for complete strangers. Fortunately we got along well.
