day 1 - Gorilla Trekking and Visit to Dian Fossey Fund

Your journey begins with an early transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic drive that takes you through Rwanda's picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival, you will participate in a briefing at the park headquarters before embarking on your gorilla trekking adventure. Trekking through the dense forests of Volcanoes National Park, you will search for one of the habituated mountain gorilla families.

Once located, you will spend one hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla permits will be arranged separately at an extra cost and are essential for this life-changing experience.

After the trek, enjoy a well-deserved lunch at your lodge, then in the afternoon, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Here, you’ll learn about the ongoing conservation efforts to protect Rwanda’s mountain gorillas and other wildlife. The visit provides an in-depth understanding of the fund's work, which has been instrumental in preserving these incredible animals and their habitats.

In the evening, return to Isange Paradise Resort, where you will unwind and enjoy dinner, reflecting on the day's adventures.

day 2 - Golden Monkey Trekking, Canoeing, and Return to Kigali

After breakfast, you will head out for your golden monkey trekking experience in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. The trek typically lasts 1–2 hours, and you’ll have the chance to observe the playful golden monkeys as they move through the bamboo, feeding and interacting with one another in their natural environment.

After your golden monkey trek, return to your lodge for a delicious lunch before heading out for a relaxing canoeing experience on Lake Ruhondo, one of the scenic lakes in the region. Paddle across the tranquil waters, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, providing a peaceful conclusion to your wildlife adventure.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Kigali, where you can be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport for your onward flight.
