A great trip in stunning landscape. A good mix of easy riding with time to enjoy the views and more challenging ups and downs. It is quite something to see herds of horses running beside you while you ride, to watch eagles soaring above you as you camp by a pristine stream. If you are happy on a bike and in a tent I can think of no better way to see Mongolia than this.

An awesome vacation that I waited decades to experience. G Adventures Nat Geo Journeys did not disappoint. Loved visiting the yak herder's family, meeting the camel herder and his family, and having lunch in the ger of the lovely retired nurse living on thr outskirts of Ulanbataar. Great trip but with long bumpy off road drives. Accommodation in Gers the first week was very basic, Gers having big gaps for cold air and small animals to enter. Some of the shared showers only had cold water. I slept in my coat a couple of nights in the mountains as only 5 degrees and too cold to face a tepid shower. Food however was a surprise being a non red meat eater, the alternative was chicken with lots of fresh salads, vegetables and some fruits. Our guide Sara was nice but lacked the skills for a large group. I had no complaints but some of the group had issues which were resolved and avoided at the next stop. Some mis information was given, so we were a little confused. We managed to arrange with Sara and Explore a trip to the Genghis Khan statue and museum at an extra cost the last day which was worth the detour. Camel riding in the Gobi was fun and for half hour we paid around £5.

A wonderful experience in Western Mongolia. So well supported by a great team of people. Our guide Chimge was beautiful, as were the cooks and drivers who worked so hard to ensure we were well looked after. We appreciated having the camels and horses carry our gear on the treks on the more difficult parts of the terrain and in case of injury or illness. I came away with so many photos from the Western Panorama trip. The tents provided were good and the felt sleeping pads helped make it a comfortable night's sleep. We had ample food despite being in remote locations.
