I really liked this trip, though I wish we stayed in Busan for at least another night. Both the Contiki and Korean guides were great, there were a few add-ons in each city to choose from and I definitely feel like I learned more about Korea than if I'd gone to the country without doing a Contiki tour. We were a pair, that just finished the Gokyo trip. The experience was amazing, and the local operator (Dipak, our guide Bhanu, and all others that helped) did a great job. My girlfriend was worried by altitude sickness, and we had a slow and steady trek, and in the end, we both managed to "climb" to the 5360 m high Gokyo Ri! We are very grateful to our local tour operator for this experience.
The weather was amazing (I really recommend going in mid October), and so were the views of course! The culture, nature, food and overall exercise you will do on this trek are amazing. Moreover, after Namche Bazar, it becomes much less crowded (due to the fact, that hundreds go to see Everest Base Camp), and we really wanted to avoid the crowds. The Gokyo valley is peaceful, serene, and offers breathtaking views on Cho Oyu troughout the trek, and on Sagarmatha (Everest) on several occasions (basically, everytime you "climb" a bit higher).

The itinerary was nicely balanced. It included the main sights in the places visited along with down time to rest and refresh. If keeping busy was more to your liking, there were many excellent optional tours.
The coach was comfortable and kept clean.
Loved the hotels. The Galleria 10 in Bangkok was in an excellent location, within walking distance to restaurants, convenience stores, and the sky train. Their 2 for 1 daily Happy Hour was a nice way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. Thoroughly enjoyed the other hotels which also offered pools for relaxation - in Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. The hotel in Kanchanaburi was within walking distance of the famous Bridge over the river Kwai which was a bonus. The hotel in Chiang Rai was within walking distance to additonal sights not included in the tour as well as to excellent restaurants. All the hotels offered a good selection of options for daily breakfast as well as for the included dinners.

From the moment we landed to the second we waved goodbye, our experience with this tour operator was nothing short of spectacular. it truly felt like we were in the hands of friends who knew Vietnam inside out, from local SIM card tricks to the best money exchange spots. Booking a tour with a local company was a first for us, and it's something we'll definitely continue to do. Hotels were generally comfortable, and the meals were surprises of Vietnamese cuisine. The itinerary was well-balanced, giving us enough free time to explore on our own, One of the most memorable moments was the home-cooked meal in a local village, where we got to connect with the community on a personal level. It was an experience that was both enriching and humbling.
