Nestled between China and India, the country has found a perfect balance between preserving its rich tradition and its march towards sustainable development to create what could be considered a modern Shangri-la. Our week-long tour will take you across Bhutan to see this inspiring mix of culture, nature and modernity.
Our Last Shangri-la Tour begins with sightseeing in the country’s capital, Thimphu, where we visit landmarks such as the Memorial Chhorten, mini- zoo, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, folk heritage museum and the majestic Tashichho Dzong.
Next, we travel to Punakha via Dochu La pass (3,100 m) and visit the Chimi Lhakhang temple along the way. We will also visit the Punakha Dzong and explore the amazing Gangtey village before heading to Paro.
In the beautiful Paro valley, we visit Rinpung Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang temple. Our tour ends with a hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, which is a perfect way to end one's journey in the last Shangri-La.

The Everest Panorama or Everest view trek is a popular trek in Nepal for the people interested in seeing Mt Everest but who do not have enough days available to reach all the way to Everest Base Camp. The trekking package is designed in such a way that you will get panoramic and close-up views ofMt. Everest at 8,850 m, the highest mountain in the world. You will also get to see other majestic mountain peaks such as Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,855m), Mt. Pumori (7,161m), Mt. Changaste (7,550m), Mt. Lingterin (6,679m), Mt. Amadablam (6,856m), and Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m).
As we have entered the Everest region inhabited by the Sherpas known for their incredible mountain climbing skills, we will also have to to sip tea with them, getting to know more about the Sherpa community; their lifestyle, culture and traditions.
This trek is suitable to even people who are not physically very fit. The maximum altitude will be 4,100 m meaning that we will not have any issues with acclimatisation either.

Although I wanted something off the beaten path, I worried this route might not be challenging enough. But I instantly realized this would be a worthy adventure with the warmest hospitality.
The trails are generally good, but you should know that the whole trip is generally straight up and down. Make sure you have walking sticks and if youre not used to hiking for several days with a pack you should consider hire a porter to carry your pack.

Would’ve liked a bit more time in Kandy- having an afternoon on the first day perhaps ? Maybe can streamline the tea plantation and shorten theearlier stop to the gem place.

This trip was the perfect balance. I’d always been curious about Thailand but I wasn’t looking for a beach holiday. I wanted a deeper connection, something that would help me understand the soul of the country. Thailand Odyssey delivered that and more.
What stood out to me most was how thoughtful the experience felt. Nothing was overdone or overly “touristy.” Whether we were visiting temples, walking through old ruins, or floating past boats stacked with mangoes and steaming dumplings, it all felt genuine and grounded in place.
The pace was just right. I never felt rushed and yet we saw and experienced so much. Some moments were vibrant and full of life, like drifting through the floating market or sharing meals at small, local spots. Others were more contemplative like taking in the quiet beauty of ancient temples or riding the train past green hills with history hanging in the air.
Traveling in a little group made a real difference. We had enough time and space to connect with each other but also room for quiet reflection. The accommodations were comfortable, the meals were memorable (I’m still thinking about that green curry), and the logistics were smooth from start to finish.
This isn’t a flashy tour. It’s not about luxury or checking off Instagram shots. It’s about slowing down, absorbing your surroundings, and returning home with stories that linger. If that sounds like your kind of travel, I can’t recommend it enough.

We booked the 7 days Everest View Trek during the time of pandemic and could not be happier with the experience. Our Guide Mr. Pasang met came to pick us up from the airport and everything went fantastic from there. The Hotel provided in Kathmandu was amazing it was near a major Buddhist Temple called boudhanath stupa felt like living in a traditional heritage site hotel. Next early morning we took flight to Lukla orgainzed by the company. As soon as we arrived Lukla i feel very amazing seeing those breath taking landmarks and himalays. We are gald that the trip was well organized by Pasang and took extra care of us our return. He even invited me to his home for dinner (perhaps an advantage of being the only one on the trek during this off season).
