Great trip, saw lots although some days waited a long time between meals or arrived at hotel late because the tour leader's time keeping is poor - 7.30am breakfast then no lunch until 2.30 is not good enough! Plus a "short walk" through a medina turned into an hour of standing around being talked at the day after the night at desert camp when you just want to get to the hotel and shower! My advice would be to make sure you save your money exchange receipts on arrival as they want to see them when you change it back later, and change your dinars back to euros BEFORE you go through security as the airport shops only take euros and there are no currency exchanges airside.
Great way to see Tunisia. Packed a lot in. Islamic cities, Roman ruins, Sahara desert and Star Wars. Guide a local which gave a good insight into the culture and religious aspect especially when visited Kairouan holy city. Locals friendly. My first Muslim country and probably the most tolerant. Accomodation was higher than had expected and western style. For me the night in the desert was the best. I went late March when no heat. My best to those of you who go in the summer.
What's not to like!everything was just wonderful hotels were very good and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Found the food was good and the driver was exceptional. So again, what's not to like. I enjoyed every day..
Such a fantastic trip! We knew from the tour description and reviews that the itinerary would be fairly fast-paced, but it proved to be the perfect way to see so much of this amazing country in a short time. We covered a great deal of Tunisia, traveling from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sahara Desert while visiting Roman ruins, mosques, medinas, and famous film locations. Our guide, Yousra, was excellent—knowledgeable, helpful, and always engaging. Everything ran seamlessly, and we felt completely safe with our driver, Chokri, who was both professional and patient throughout. We were also very lucky to travel with such a wonderful group of people! Thank you for a truly memorable experience!
This trip to Tunisia was a wonderful overview of this beautiful North African country. From the bustling medina's to the vast Sahara Desert - this trip had such great variety. My personal highlight was definitely Tozeur - it was well worth staying two nights there. Also loved Kairouan and El Jem; they were the main draws for me visiting with this itinerary, and they exceeded my expectations - simply stunning. Yousra, our tour leader, was superb - very informative and friendly throughout. Highly recommend using Explore to see Tunisia. Many thanks for the adventure!
A very full on and busy tour. Explores a lot of very different sights and maintains interest throughout. A lot of walking in ruins and uneven streets. Drives on the whole are not too long being broken by visits to places of interest and the bus was comfortable. The trip to the Sahara camp is amazing and very memorable as we drove there through a big sandstorm, the skills of the drivers to navigate this were very impressive. The campsite on arrival was very comfortable and served excellent food. The mosaics and historical sites are marvelous. Our guide Yusra was exceptional, she had lots of local knowledge, was fun, entertaining and well organised. She coped really well when a medical emergency arose to one member of the group providing the couple with great support while keeping the rest of the tour running with little disruption. Highly recommend this trip
