Akwaaba! Welcome! Upon arrival at Terminal 3 of Kotoka International Airport, Accra-Ghana, you will be met by a staff member and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight in Accra
After breakfast, begin your tour with a visit to the Central Region of Ghana. Leave the hustle and bustle (and traffic!) of Accra and head to a calmer region.
Our first stop will be to explore Kakum National Park, one of the remaining tropical forests of West Africa. There is a canopy walkway that lies in the forest of Kakum and is the most common activity in the park, which we won’t miss. We will also hike into the forest with the guidance of an experienced park guide.
Afterward, we will depart for Accra but make a quick stop at the haunting Cape Coast Slave Castle which was built in 1653 by the Swedish and was later taken over by the British. This castle played a significant role in the infamous transatlantic slave trade. Return back to Accra for overnight.
After breakfast, depart with the morning flight to Tamale. Upon arrival, you will be met by our team who will then transfer you on a 2-hour journey to Mole National Park. Upon arrival, you will check-in into your room to relax and await your late afternoon safari drive with an experienced park guide.

Today you head further northwards outside the park for an early morning trip to Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary up the Black Volta River, with a detour at Kulmasa Crocodile Pond to experience crocodiles that have co-existed with the indigenous people for the past decades.
After Kulmasa, we will head to Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary, a protected area consisting of a 40 km stretch down the length of the Black Volta River. The Wechiau Sanctuary is home to hippos, bats, chameleons, hedgehogs, and many different types of lizards and snakes. Take a canoe safari accompanied by your local guide for a view of the hippos at eye level only and a wide variety of birds on the Black Volta River.
