The Chilean Sky is famous for is crystal clear vision of the infinity of our universe. Let yourself be taken out of this world getting a glance of the immense skies above us, not even lifting a toe off the ground.
This private observatory located in the Andes at a 40 minutes drive from Santiago, offers an impressive introduction into the world above and around us. We will be warmly received by our hosts for our boutique tour.
First, an experienced astronomer takes us through a presentation with interesting and astounding facts about the universe, the planets, and the stars.
Then, leaving the theoretic part behind, we get a chance to observe the night sky with our bare eyes. Moving onwards in technology we use binoculars, and bigger telescopes until we finally get to use the high-tech telescopes of the observatory.
To bring you back down to earth, you will be served wine, cheese and other refreshments at the end of the tour. Then you will also have the opportunity to join into discussion with the other members of the group, in order to share experiences and impressions.
You will be picked up at 19.30 and returned by 24.00 max to your hotel (1/2 hour drive from Providencia).

This is an absolutely incredible tour -- our guide Jason was both very informative and very helpful. He explained the history of the Arenal volcano to us, we took a short hike a small part of the way up the mountain, and then went back down to look at wildlife in the rainforest. We saw spider monkeys, which Jason said are a pretty rare sight, and then a red curacao just walked out onto the trail in front of us! It was an incredible feeling to just be seeing all these animals spontaneously on a nature hike.
Speaking of hikes, it is important to be aware that this tour is somewhat physically demanding. There are no extreme parts, just some strenuous walking over very uneven ground, but I think the tour description could do a better job of emphasizing the challenge. At the same time, the tour is extremely convenient in terms of picking you up and dropping you off at your desired location, whether a hotel, hot springs, or somewhere else. Overall, I strongly recommend the Arenal Volcano trip to anyone who is into volcanoes and wildlife and plans to visit the Arenal area.

It was a fun tour put together. The name of this tour pretty much is what says, in which you see many different waterfalls and forest areas around the Ricon de la Vieja National Park, Monteverde, and Arenal volcano near La Fortuna. Many activities were arranged to which you see these waterfalls and forest environments such as horseback riding, nightwalk to see various animals insects and reptiles at night, hikes, and rappelling. When these activities were done usually by noon, you have the rest of the day to yourself to explore around other sites or to just relax at your hotel. I enjoyed the week I had in Costa Rica doing this tour, and I would recommend anyone who wants a bit of adventure and relaxation to go on this tour.
