Begin your unforgettable Iceland adventure at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where history and geology collide as the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart. Journey next to the mystical Snæfellsnes Peninsula, famed for its rugged coastlines, volcanic craters, and the iconic Snæfellsjökull glacier that inspired Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. Cross the scenic Breiðafjörður Bay by ferry to the remote Westfjords, where towering fjords and the breathtaking Dynjandi waterfall await. Explore the dramatic bird cliffs of Látrabjarg, home to thousands of puffins, and stroll along the striking red sands of Rauðisandur Beach, a hidden gem of tranquility. Experience authentic Icelandic life with a stop at a family-run dairy farm, then continue north to Akureyri, the vibrant capital of North Iceland. Here, embark on an exhilarating whale watching tour in Eyjafjörður Fjord before heading to Siglufjörður, a charming fishing town rich in maritime history. Marvel at the volcanic wonders around Lake Mývatn — from lava fields and pseudo craters to steamy geothermal areas — and feel the raw power of Europe’s mightiest waterfall, Dettifoss. Unwind in the unique geothermal floating pools of Vök Baths, surrounded by serene lake views. Discover the icy majesty of Vatnajökull National Park, Europe’s second-largest, and cruise among towering icebergs in the famous Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Walk the black sands of Diamond Beach and explore Skaftafell’s glacier tongues before heading to the South Coast’s stunning waterfalls — Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Your grand Icelandic journey culminates with a drive through the Golden Circle’s iconic geothermal landscapes, including the erupting Strokkur geyser and the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, finishing with a memorable final night in Reykjavík. The captain and expedition team really pushed the limits to ensure that we visited as many interesting places as possible and saw a wide range of scenery and ecosystems. The crew were very friendly and helpful, and the expedition team was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in both the Arctic and Antarctic. The ship was very comfortable with a fantastic library and other good facilities, and our cabin was wonderful - peaceful, comfortable and beautifully furnished.
