“The tour was very beautifully crafted and we explored the most beautiful parts of the kingdom of Bhutan. Me and my wife are both hikers and love to explore the wilderness. And theres nothing like exploring the far flung dragon kingdom of Bhutan. Our 2019 Bhutan tour was the most amazing so far among all our trips around the world.We started off by arriving at Paro Airport, a wonderful lush valley surrounded by high mountains. It was a world out of this world. The drive from Paro to Thimphu unfolded numerous sacred temples in exotic locations. The Tachog Lhakhang was one of our favorite with mystical energy in an ancient set up. We also added 2 nights stay in Punakha valley to the Bhutan Walking & Hiking Tour. We hiked to Lungchutse Gompa from Dochula Pass on our way from Thimphu to Punakha. From the Gompa the view was epic (on top the world); we have commanding view of the Punakha and Wangdue valley and bird eye view of some highest snow covered peaks.The hike to Zuri in Paro was leisure one but the trail offers wonderful opportunities to capture the verdant Paro valley and Paro Dzong. There were ample of other hikes that we have equally enjoyed such as:Chelela Pass to Kila Gompa hikeJungney Dra hike in HaaTango and Chari Monastery in ThimphuKhamsum Yulley Hike in Punakha The Epic Tigers Nest Monastery (must visit )We have also covered cultural sightseeing places such as:Buddha DordenmaChangangkha Lhakhang National Memorial Chorten Painting SchoolTraditional Medicinal hospital Paro Museum Punakha Dzong (must visit)Sangchen Nunnery in Punakha White and Black temple in Haa etc. The local travel specialist has been so accommodating with our ever evolving changes in the itinerary even after our arrival. “What made our Bhutan experience exceptionally memorable were not only the stunning natural beauty and historical architectures, but a glimpse of the heart of the Bhutanese unadorned sincerity, altruistic and respectful.After contacting a few tour operators, I decided to go with the local travel specialist because of Thinleys prompt and professional communication. We emailed back and forth for many many times to customise the trip according to our preference. Thinley was very patient and considerate in addressing our problem and suggesting plans.Our Chinese-speaking tour guide Rabgay and driver Khandu also contributed in delivering an exceptionally relaxed and enjoyable Bhutan experience to our family. They did a good job of taking care of us at hiking and helped us to accommodate to the fast changing climate and environment. Rabgay is very professional and earnest in explaining everything. The vehicle, food, and hotels are all very satisfactory.Apart from Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha, our trip to Gangtey Monastery and Phobjikha valley (Thinleys suggestion) really brought surprises to us. The Valley impressed us by its stunning natural beauty of primitive cedar forest, graceful cow and horses on the meadow and near the river, and most importantly, the peace and silence. At Gangtey monastery we attended a ritual dedicated specially to our family, smoke offering, dharma talk, and meditation session. Thinley made a lot of efforts in arranging these and he also explained us the deeper meaning behind the ritual. “Bhutan is an immensely beautiful country and this trip really does cover the essence of it. You will get to see beautiful views of Himalaya mountains, you will visit a number of unique monasteries, historical fortresses and natural sights. The sequence of the visited places is well chosen, with the hiking trip to the Tiger´s nest the day before your departure. A cap is a must and some prior hiking training is an advantage. The food was very fine, with the hosts able to prepare a vegetarian option. Guide and driver both excellent. This really has been, without exaggeration, one of our best holiday trips. People were friendly, hospitable and the places we visited were magical, with no, or only a very few tourists.”
