Costa Rica Eco Tours 2024/2025

Costa Rica is a shining example of a country embracing ecotourism as a means to protect its natural wonders. The country boasts nearly five percent of the world's known species, and it is making great strides in protecting them and their habitat. On a Costa Rican eco tour, you can visit national parks such as Corcovado and Tortuguero which are committed to protecting the lush rainforests and elusive wildlife such as sloths, jaguars and sea turtles. There are also a variety of eco-friendly activities to try. Enjoy a zip-line ride through the forest canopy, go on a white-water rafting expedition, snorkel among marine creatures, or simply relax at a natural hot spring in Arenal Volcano. Throughout your Costa Rica eco tour, stay in eco lodges and forest retreats. Travel while keeping your carbon footprint is low. The Costa Rican way of life is ‘Pura Vida,’ which means pure life lived in harmony with nature. The spirit of ‘Pura Vida’ resonates throughout our Costa Rica eco tours, teaching you to appreciate and preserve the delicate balance between nature and humankind.

Great tour of Costa Rica

“We started off San Jose and explored the culture. Food was amazing. Next we headed out to Pacuera River to whitewater raft for two days. Got to stay in the rainforest with huts and the guides/volunteers were Amazing. So attentive, knowledgeable and kind. They kept us well fed. Our next trip took us to LA Fortuna....long drive but worth it. The hanging bridges, waterfall, and hot springs all were very enjoyable. We were lucky enough to see spider monkeys and other native wildlife ssooo cool! We then went to Quepas near Manuel Antonio to enjoy the Pacific beach. Beautiful as well. The water is very warm. Other wildlife we saw were macaws, iguanas, chipocun monkeys. Last destination back to San Jose. Enjoyed walking around the market streets. Our drivers, guides, and meals were all great.”

Tips for Costa Rica eco trips

  • When you’re on a Costa Rica eco trip, bring a reusable bottle. It’s hot and humid, so even if it’s overcast, you’ll need to stay hydrated. Tap water is safe here.
  • Public buses in Costa Rica are an easy, affordable, and largely eco-friendly way to travel. They’re super popular and run between all the main cities and towns.
  • If you can, donate to conservation efforts in the area. There’s normally a donation box in addition to the entry fee at national parks.
