“This holiday was a wonderful experience, one of the best we have had and one that we plan on doing again next year. Having stayed at Basecamp Oulanka last year on the snowshoeing holiday, also a great trip, we wanted to return there again as we could find no faults with the place. The staff are always so willing and helpful, the accommodation is great, the food is Finnish and of a very high standard and the range of activities offered make for a fantastically varied and full week. Having experienced one day of dogsledding last year we couldn't wait to return for a week's worth of it. We did and we were not disappointed. Sledding through the countryside, which was like a scene from a Winter wonderland, hearing nothing but the hiss of the sled runners on the snow is a very moving and wonderful experience as is the thrill of traveling at speed through the forests or over the frozen lakes by 5 huskies. The quietness contrasting with the excitement and noise of the dogs as they are harnessed and straining to be on their way because they really do want to run, it's stopping them that is the problem. You still though have the opportunity to do other things as well so you can go for a walk in the woods, cross country skiing, relax in the inevitable sauna or hot tub or simply sit and read whilst having a pint. We experienced a whole range of weather, from stunningly clear days to a day when we crossed a frozen lake in a blizzard, in the dark at a temperature below -20C, both extremes beautiful in their own ways. The welcome that we received at Olilla, the camp you go to on your 3 day expedition, was equally friendly and welcoming with the owners, as well as providing wonderful food always joined us for 'apres sled' drinks and a chat.”

4 - Very Good
“I really enjoyed this trip to this little visited country. It is so little visited we hardly saw any other tourists on our travels. It is correctly graded as a leisurely trip as there is no strenuous activity, but it is certainly a busy one with lots to see. The Albanian people are very friendly and welcoming. We saw stunning scenery and ate wonderful home grown food.”
