High and low lands combine to create a continent of extremes. The highest waterfall (Angel Falls in Venezuela), the most voluminous river and the largest rainforest (the Amazon rainforest), the longest mountain range (the Andes), the driest place in the world (Atacama Desert in Chile), and even the best carnivals in the world - South America does nothing by halves. Visit South America to see some of the most interesting landscapes in the world, to sample the deliciously varied cuisines and the beautiful and friendly locals. Get ready to live life to the full when you are on a holiday to South America.

An experience to remember!

“Torres del Paine is a place that touches your soul. The sheer magnitude of the mountains, the serenity of the lakes, and the ever-changing Patagonian landscape left an indelible mark on my heart. This is not just a trip; it's an odyssey through one of the world's most extraordinary landscapes. If you're a nature lover, an adventurer, a hiker, or a photographer seeking to capture the raw beauty of our planet, Torres del Paine should be at the top of your travel list. It's an experience that will resonate with you long after you've left, a testament to the wonder and majesty of our natural world.”
Great Trip!!!

“The trails were very well marked and easy to hike on your own. There is a clear itinerary of where you should be each night. Do not bring food, as there is an excellent and ample breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. The showers were also decent and at all the camps on the W trek and had warm water. The sleeping bags and mats were warm enough, although I did go in December, so summer season. Transfers were seamless. We had to wait for the ferry to make a second trip at the end, so a one hour thirty minutes delay, and the buses waited on us to take us back to Puerto Natales. Having everything booked took the stress out of trying to get my own sites and transportation, and meals being provided saved a lot on weight. Overall, no complaints and a great trip!!”
I loved it

“I thoroughly enjoyed my recent vacation The amazing accommodations, delectable cuisine, seamless transportation, would not have been achievable without the guidance of our exceptional tour guide, Lau. Without the support of Lau and her company, the extensive exploration and diverse experiences within the ten-day duration would have been unattainable for me in Costa Rica.   Thanks to the meticulous planning and personal touch and the charismatic presence of Lau, I was able to explore diverse regions of this beautiful country and create memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. Lau played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall quality of the journey. She was a perfect blend of enjoyment and knowledge, demonstrating both care and entertainment throughout the trip. She had insightful recommendations for culinary delights and engaging activities. It is a rare find to come across someone who can effortlessly blend professionalism with genuine care and charisma. This balance contributed significantly to the success of the journey. Lau was able to provide help dependent that was specifically tailored to each person within the group, going above and beyond to make sure we were all satisfied and taken care of. She was also able to provide various information on questions that were presented and we can see just how much she cared about the people she was with.   Lau’s influence transformed this vacation into a truly remarkable and unforgettable experience.”

South America - Travel Highlights and Travel Tips

Travel Highlights

  • Head to the Peruvian Andes and climb the Inca trail on your way to the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu. It’s easily the most famous archaeological site in South America, and while there are some great alternatives, the Inca Trail is iconic.
  • See the blinding white and blue of Salar de Uyuni, the Bolivian salt flats. An almost dreamlike experience, the salt flats stretch for as far as the eye can see, with the sparkling white salt and cerulean blue sky being completely void of any distractions.
  • Stand in the divine presence of Angel Falls, Venezuela. Almost one kilometer high, the waterfall cascades from a tepui - a table top mountain, called Auyantepui - and is approximately 16 times taller than Niagara Falls.
  • Canoe down the legendary Amazon river, the life source of our planet, and appreciate the interconnectivity of Earth and it’s inhabitants.
  • Get lost in the crowds and gawp at the rainbow coloured floats and the passionate Samba Schools of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival and get ready for a party like you’ve never experienced before.
  • Tango with the best in Buenos Aires.

Travel Tips

  • Brush up on your Spanish, as it’s the official language of most of South America, and a little effort goes a long way with the locals.
  • While much of South America is friendly to tourists, extreme poverty means some areas in large cities are off-limits. Keep your wits about, make smart decisions and you’ll only have great experiences.
  • Much like North America, South America is big on affordable bus journeys. The only difference is the variety of passengers you’re likely to meet - from a live chicken to your new best friend.
  • South America straddles the equator and the tropic of Capricorn, meaning most of the continent experiences a tropical climate. However, temperatures vary on the time of year and be aware that the southern part experiences reversed seasons, so plan your wardrobe carefully.
  • Visit your doctor before you travel and make sure you’re up-to-date on all vaccinations and medications needed for travelling in South America.
  • Eat local, it’s the best way to immerse yourself in the local culture and it’s also usually the cheapest way to get a good meal.
