Poonjill (3210m), one of the best sunrise view points where the Annapurna Range and Dhaulagiri Range can be admired is the highlight of the Ghorepani Poonhill Ghandruk trek. The 7th Highest mountain in the world Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8,167 mtr) and the 10th Highest Mt. Annapurna 1 (8,091 mtr) along with Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna south, Himchuli, Nilgiri, and Tukuche Peak are some of the mountains that you will experience close up views at, on this trek.
It is for good reasons that the Annapurna region along with the Ghorepani trek is a favorite trekking trail among tourists. Staying in comfortable altitudes this trek provides neither too hot nor too cold temperatures allowing you to complete this physical challenge in relative comfortable environment.
According to the different seasons, plants, trees and flowers await you with lush timberland and beautiful horizons. Especially during the spring season the Rhododendron, the National flower of Nepal, covers the mountain-side in all its different colors and aromas. When inside the Annapurna Conservation Area, you are also likely to encounter protected wild animals such as birds, butterflies and other insects.
The eco-friendly Annapurna region strictly allows only local people to own guest houses which help boost the local economy. These people coming from either a Hindu and Buddhist background will warmly welcome you to explore their customs, cultures, traditions, foods, and lifestyle. Surprisingly there are many diverse languages/dialects and cultural traditions in a small location but religious, cultural and ethnic harmony has been a strength in the society.
Our trip of the Ghorepani Poonhill Ghandruk trek starts and concludes in Pokhara, the beautiful city with panoramic views of Mountains, Lakes and valleys with many more adventures available around the corner.
