“Following our positive impressions of Bulgaria from our first tour with this local travel specialist, we decided to opt for a self-guided experience, visiting this time one of the most remote regions of the country, close to the border with Greece. Naturally we booked this one with them too. Again the whole organization went very smooth. All local transfers were on time. The navigation materials we were given were very accurate and never let us down. We felt completely safe at all times, although on some of the hikes we didn't meet any other tourists at all. The whole experience walking unguided turned out to be one of our most memorable holidays ever. I dare to say we experienced the rural side of Bulgaria in one of the best possible ways, enjoying also great landscapes of uninhibited mountain ranges, isolated back roads, caves, gorges, rivers, meadows and dense forests. Local hosts have been most welcoming and food was really delicious. We were taken care of with hospitality and treated well during all breakfasts and dinners (especially in Lyaskovo village!). Definitely a place worth visiting before it gets popular.”

“I knew from the description that it would be a fast paced trip and that we would sleep in a different place each night and that’s exactly what I wanted = an overview so I could see whether I wanted to go back anywhere. If you’re like me, who enjoys going out for dinner and drinks each night, you would be very tired at the end of trip. However, many chose to stay in and go to bed and I believe for them the trip was not tiring, even for the older ones. Morning starts are reasonable - we left at 8am each day. Simon was a fabulous tour guide and the local guides were all wonderful. Do take small euro bills = you definitely need them. (also take coins for toilet stops). Definitely have a revolut, or similar, card. The optional activities, whilst nice,, are highly, highly over-priced, shame on the travel specialist! One thing I missed, was more. recommendations to authentic local food with local prices. All in all, a fabulous trip and I’m so glad I did it. I will use this agency again for their professionalism.”

“I had the pleasure of embarking on a 8-day tour of Romania with this local travel specialist earlier this year. My husband and I were thrilled to explore the charming regions of Transylvania and Maramures and indulge in the expertise of the team. From start to finish, our tour was an exceptional experience that exceeded our expectations. Maramures is a region in Romania that is known for its stunning natural beauty and unique culture. The highlight of our tour was the traditional wooden churches that dot the countryside. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites are an incredible sight to behold, with their intricate carvings and vibrant paintings. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of these churches, and we were left in awe of their beauty. Another unforgettable experience was visiting the Merry Cemetery in the town of Sapanta. This vibrant cemetery is unlike any other in the world, with colorful tombstones that tell the stories of the deceased in a humorous and lighthearted way. Our guide shared with us the fascinating history and traditions behind this unique cemetery, and we were left with a deep appreciation for the customs and culture of Maramures. Throughout our tour, we also had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in local experiences. We visited traditional markets where we sampled delicious local cheeses and meats, and we learned about the traditional crafts of the region, such as woodcarving and weaving. These experiences allowed us to truly connect with the local people and gain a deeper understanding of the culture and way of life in Romania. What really stood out to us was the expertise and passion of the team. Our guide was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also went out of their way to ensure that we had the best possible experience. They took us to off-the-beaten-path locations that we never would have found on our own, and their enthusiasm for the region was infectious.”
