“It is impossible as a tourist in hotels to get a really good insight into the local culture, so that is why it is important to have a guide who is a long term resident who has a feel for the history of the area and the people. That is what we got. It helps us to behave appropriately for the environment. The planning and organisation of our guide was absolutely first class, thus when some unexpected change became necessary her organisational skills enabled this to happen with no untoward effects on the participants. We saw a big variety of Japanese towns, villages and countryside and experienced public transport. It was a worthwhile trip and we wouldn't have missed it for the world.”

“If you would like to experience Japan and its people, their way of life, use the local transport, restaurants as well as enjoy the stunning beauty of the countryside, this is a top tour. So often tours collect you at the airport, take you to tourist attractions and you see a lot of the inside of a coach. With everything prebooked and a guide to make sure you catch the trains, buses etc., explain the local culture and way of life, yet allow you free time to explore on your own, this is a secure way to travel. Our guide was exceptional: helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable, well organised and patient.”

“All in all a fantastic trip! Everything was well organised, accommodation was very good, provided meals were excellent & the days were packed full of things to do, most of which were included in the trip price plus our tour leader, Akemi, was simply one of the best leaders that Ive ever travelled with, always smiling & trying to ensure that we had the best experience ever!”
