The 12-days Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular treks in the Everest region because of its great mountain vistas and fantastic trekking trails.

For many people, the Everest Base Camp trek is a lifelong dream coming true, allowing them to finally get close to Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, via Everest Base Camp. The EBC trail involves small climbs and descents, traversing lush low land, alpine forests, glaciers, rivers, Buddhist monasteries, temples, and authentic Sherpa Villages.

The Everest Base Camp trek has two famous highlights - the Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, a great viewpoint located at +5600 meters giving you close up views of Mt Everest, Mt Nuptse, and many other mountain ranges.

The delightful journey to Everest Base Camp starts with a Trans-Himalayan flight to the mountain airstrip of Lukla also known as the entry point to the Everest region. The trek starts from Lukla trekking through Phakding to reach Namche bazaar based at an elevation 3,436M, also known as the capital of the Everest region. The trek then further ascends through Sagarmatha National Park, a great habitat for rich floras and faunas before slowly getting closer to Everest Base Camp and KalaPatthar.

We look forward to giving you an amazing experience of a lifetime. Please see the itinerary for a day-by-day itinerary.

Best Guide. Would highly recommend this company!
“We honestly got lucky that our trip turned out so well. We didnt do a tonof research and picked the first trek that matched our budget. The trek far exceeded our expectations! Everything was super smooth and Breakfree was super easy to work with, from booking to finish! We are three American girls in our 20s and seriously loved our experience. Our guide, Ramesh, made it even better. Ask for him if youre able to!!!! We got sick before and trek and along the way and he was always there with whatever we needed to make it better. I could go on and on. Seriously book this trek, if youre thinking about it!!! The only thing Id add is that if you do the option without lunch and dinner, dont bring your own! We packed our jetboil and 24 meals each thinking we had to provide our own meals. Dont make the same mistake as us! You can purchase good food (even vegetarian) all the way up to base camp.”

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • What is the weather going to be like when I travel to Everest Base Camp?

The weather in Nepal varies by season. For example, November to January is the dry season with sunny days, clear skies and usually no rain. However, on Everest Base Camp, the temperatures at this altitude will be cold, particularly at night. February to May and September to October is the most popular time to travel to EBC, with usually fairly dry and stable weather, although there may be the occasional shower. June to August is monsoon season in Nepal, but once you pass 3,000 meters altitude there is less and less rain. Check out our guide on the best time to visit Nepal for more on specific monthly climate and seasons.

  • How much money do I need to bring with me?

Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

  • Is quarantine in Nepal in effect for arriving visitors?

In response to the current Covid situation, rules for arriving visitors may change frequently and sometimes without notice. Please check the government travel pages and advisories of your home country and the official website of the Nepal Tourism board here.

  • What happens if someone gets altitude sickness, does the rest of the group continue on?

It depends on the situation. Sometimes, altitude sickness can be treated and the trekker may wish to continue. If not, the rest of the group can continue on if they want and the sick person can descend.

  • How does it work with a porter?

Generally, the porter will pick up the baggage in the morning and drop it at the hotel in the evening. You will not always be walking with your porter or have access to your bag during the day, while trekking.
