“Every transfer was spot-on time with friendly drivers. The hikes were challenging as expected but led to some spectacular scenery. Pre-training and good hiking shoes, preferably boots, a must. Trails were well labelled with coloured markers and the route notes were very detailed and easy to follow. Accommodation was good. An excellent package and well priced.”

“What a great tour we had with the local travel specialist! When people think of a hike somewhere higher in Europe, they immediately think of the Alps. Well, the "Balkans Alps" are not at all less scenic. Pirin and Rila and stunning mountain ranges, full of peaks exceeding 2000m. We never got bored of summits and glacial lakes, which were following one after the other as we traced some of the most picturesque trails of these mountains. I particularly enjoyed the climb of Mt. Vihren in Pirin, which was nothing but stunning! This tour is perfect for active hikers, who wish to explore a less different region of Europe, but exceeding (IMO) many of the other popular trekking destinations. The ground logistics were perfect. The guide Nadya did a great job keeping us together and explaining everything we wanted to hear. Transfers were perfectly organized as well. The small hotels and pensions we used to stay overnight were comfortable and clean and the food we were served (especially when it was our guide's choice of the menu) were very tasty. “This was a well organized and high quality trip. We stayed in small family run hotels and were taken up to the mountains for the walks. The walks were well planned so that the 6 days walking was well balanced, with a more restful day on day 4. The guide was excellent and he set an ideal pace for the group. The walks were demanding as stated in the brochure, and definitely required skills and experience in high mountain walking, but the rewards were fantastic views and a sense of great achievement in climbing so many high peaks. It was a wonderful week and one of my best trips ever Our guide Mitko was outstanding. I truly give this tour 5 stars.”
