Philippines weather in February

Philippines in February offers one of the best weathers to explore the outdoors.

The weather in the Philippines in February is pleasantly warm, with low risks of rainfall and typhoons. With average highs of 29°C (85°F) and average lows of 22°C (71°F), sunny days are abundant in February. As the month falls in the dry season, the country’s secluded places become accessible during this time. This means you can explore the country without worrying about sudden downpours or cyclones.

Though most attractions are beaming in their best versions, the Banaue rice terraces haven’t reached their vibrant shade of green just yet. Plantation starts in March, so you are better off excluding this attraction off your travel list when you’re visiting the Philippines in February. Choose island hopping adventures, beach activities, hiking and other outdoor pursuits instead.

  • Vibrant nightlife: In February, many tourists flock to the Philippines for lazy days by the beach and to enjoy the island parties. Some of the most popular destinations are Boracay, El Nido, and Manila. The parties are hosted all days of the week during the peak season, and you will have plenty of opportunities to meet people from different cultures.

February is one of the best times to visit the Philippines and one of the unmissable attractions is the Chocolate Hills in Bohol Island. This geographical attraction is made of 1776 similar-shaped mounds in an area of more than 50 square kilometers. Starting from February, the hills become so parched that they turn into their iconic chocolate color. You can get a 360-degree view of this otherworldly landscape from two strategically mounted platforms. Whilst in Bohol, plan to spend a lazy day at Alona beach. Known for its powdery sand, turquoise waters, and vibrant culinary and party scene, any amount of time here will be well-spent.

In February, there’s another destination that reaches just the right temperatures for the visitors to enjoy: Palawan. It’s the only month when it rains for three days on average on this island and it’s also the time before the hottest period of the year begins. From pristine beaches, hidden lagoons, unique limestone cliffs, and luxurious accommodations, Palawan is the ideal island getaway in the agreeable Philippines weather in February.

In Palawan, Coron Island and the cities of El Nido and Puerto Princesa are the most popular areas. The latter is famed for Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Its unique attributes comprise an underground river, complex cave systems, limestone formations and distinctive wildlife. You can enjoy the majestic scenery via boat, get the adrenaline running with activities like zip-lining, or treat your taste buds to the impressive eateries located inside the park.

What to bring

Chances of rain are low so you can leave the umbrellas at home. Pack light clothes to keep yourself cool and comfortable. Wear plenty of sunscreen and bring mosquito repellents because the islands and the lush regions are full of them!
