This two-day program includes a visit to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, including the town of Iruya, which seems to be carved into the mountains. We will visit numerous points of interest, such as Purmamarca, Tilcara, UquÃa, Humahuaca and finally Iruya, where we will spend the night. Accommodation not included
The tour begins with the transfer from hotels in Salta at 07:00 hs
Accompanied by local guides, we head to the area of ​​Quebrada de Humahuaca, where we will first visit Purmamarca, to observe the Cerro de los Siete Colores, the Church and the Artisan Market at the square. We will pass by Horn Post, continuing towards the town of Tilcara to visit Pucará and the Archaeological Museum.
Next stop is in Huacalera, where we will pass the Tropic of Capricorn, from where you can see the colours of the Pollera de la Colla Hill . Visit to the Church of UquÃa, where we find the paintings of the Angels Arcabuceros (important remains of Cuzco style art). Arrival to Humahuaca, with its important Cathedral and the Monument to Independence (El Indio) by the sculptor Soto Avendaño.
We continue our journey, passing through the town of Iturbe and Abra del Cóndor (3900 masl) arriving at the beginning of a small gorge where this small town, Iruya, of pre-Hispanic origins, is located. We spend the night here (accommodation not included) and during the next day, we begin our trip back to Salta, visiting the city of San Salvador de Jujuy on the way.
