This day tour begins in Puerto Madryn, picking up each passenger at their hotel/accommodation very early in the morning. It is a 380 km overland journey with a duration of about 10 hours along with specialized nature guides. Declared a World Heritage Site all along Peninsula, unique species are found in the area which offers a suitable place for them to build their life. The area known as Peninsula Valdes, a World Heritage Site, hosts many different and unique species that only can be found in this area a suitable place to live. This full day tour, accompanied by bilingual guides, will take you explore this wonderful reservation.
Departure from Puerto Madryn between 7:30 / 8:00 am to start the journey. First stop at the interpretive center Carlos Ameghino Isthmus, where you can have quick references on fauna, flora and geology of the Peninsula. Also will get to see the panoramic to Golfo Nuevo, San Jose and Bird Island. Then another stop takes place in the town of Puerto Piramides where those who selected the option will go whale watching. The tour begins along the coast, guided by our specialized and bilingual staff, who will teach us the unique ecosystems meanwhile sailing on a catamaran to meet the whales.
Continuing the land route, subject to season, weather and tides will be visited in different order or combined with other stops: Caleta Valdes, Punta Norte and Punta Cantor to observe elephant seals, penguins and sea lions. Watching the terrestrial land orcas can be realized from Punta Norte, having more chances to see them in the months of March and April. Also during September at Caleta Valdes (less frequently).
