The "Classical South India" tour starts from and ends in Chennai. It is a cultural, religious and historic sites trip that takes 11 days taking you through Tanjore, Kumarakom, Mamallapuram and 5 other destinations in India. "Classical South India" is a guided group tour that includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

This 12-day small-group tour will guide you through the most fascinating cities in Southern India. Begin your trip in Chennai, from where you will travel to Mamallapuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and "open-air museum" and one of the most famous tourist attractions in India. From there you will depart for Pondicherry, situated near the Bay of Bengal with beautiful beaches and European Colonial architecture. Your next stop will be in Tanjore, the former capital of the Chola Empire. Today, it boasts plenty of magnificent temples such as the Dharasuram and Brihadeeswara Temples. Next, you will drive to Madurai, one of the oldest cities in Southern India with 2500 years of history. Upon arrival in Periyar, you will discover the Spice Plantation and bask in the beautiful scenery of the Idukki district. Travel to Kumarakom, a cluster of beautiful islands surrounded by tropical waterways. Enjoy the sunshine and relax on the beaches before you drive to Cochin for your final stop on this tour of India.
