Most people choose to visit Hungary during the high season, between June and August. But there are so many reasons why a holiday to Hungary in April is a great choice.

  • Fewer tourists: With most people heading to Hungary during the summer, Hungary in April tends to be largely tourist-free. This means you do not have to stand in line for too long to visit the most touristy spots and you will also have better chances to mingle with the locals.
  • Cheaper prices: Fewer tourists also mean cheaper prices. For instance, while there are only a handful of Airbnb options below 1,000 Euros for four weeks in July, there are way more options for the same period in April.
  • Festivals and events: April sees an abundance of festivals in Hungary. For instance, the Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the appearance of the first cherry flowers. On these days, locals and expats enjoy picnics in Budapest while admiring these beautiful trees. This month also hosts the Spring Festival, featuring plenty of events ranging from concerts to film projections and more.
