The trip Walking In The Julian Alps starts from Ljubljana and ends in Bled. This is a walking tour that takes 7 days taking you through Ljubljana, Bohinj Lake, Bovec, Triglav Lakes and 4 other destinations in Slovakia and Slovenia. This is a self-guided trip that includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

A superb walk through the Julian Alps of Slovenia with an option to ascend Mt Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain. In the north western corner of Slovenia, close to Austria and Italy, are the limestone mountains known as the Julian Alps. The range was the stage of bitter fighting during WWI (with relics on the trails to prove it) and Hemingway wrote his book, 'Farewell to Arms', while based in these mountains. More recently they have become famous for the exciting trekking and climbing opportunities in what is some of the finest mountain scenery in Europe. Characterised by high mountain lakes, peaceful alpine valleys and rugged limestone peaks, the Julian Alps retain their distinctive identity and originality. The walk ascends thematic paths and passes by beautiful turquoise lakes to complete a memorable journey. An option to ascend Mt Triglav (2864m), Slovenia's highest mountain is available. There is plenty of time after the walk to soak up the beauty and history of the fairytale town of Bled nestled at the base of the Julian peaks. This is an exhilarating adventure which will appeal to alpine enthusiasts.

“The Tour du Mont Blanc hike was an excellent way to see the beautiful Alps and experience the culture, cuisine, and natural beauty of the region. We were fortunate to have an excellent guide named Christophe who has done many treks and has a degree in Biology, so we learned much about the nature, plants, and animals we saw on the trek. While it was a bit more physically challenging than at first anticipated, we had the best time and wouldn't have skipped this opportunity if we had the chance!”

“A fascinating introduction to rural Northern Romania with a great guide, good hilly walks, friendly warm people and masses of hearty Romanian food. It did my soul good to know there are such places left in this world.”

“What a wonderful way to observe and experience the 'picture perfect' French countryside and it's very attractive and interesting villages. The cycle paths and quiet roads allowed for a relaxing, mostly traffic free ride and we particularly enjoyed visiting some of the smaller, less known villages that are off the tourist path. The bikes and maps provided were great, we were warmly welcomed into each hotel, which we found to be consistently comfortable and the meals provided were delightful. Would heartily recommend.”
