The best Machu Picchu trek operator in Cusco -Alpaca Tours.

  • Joseph Cham
“I had a really great time trekking up the Inca Trail over 4 days and 3 nights starting Dec 29,2021 and summiting on Jan 1,2022. I am so glad I had decided to go with this tour company. They had everything organized to a T!! The food was great at each campsite and they even took care of my diabetic needs on the mountain!! To top it off, the chef even baked a cake for our group for New Year's eve!! The guides, Jaime and Adolfo were not only very pleasant to deal with but also very knowledgeable about the Trail and the related Inca history. Jaime was always pointing out to historical facts, trivia and several species of orchids and that made the arduous climb seem like a walk in the park. Adolfo was always around to help and demonstrated skillfully how the ancient Incas made sturdy ropes out of simple mountain grass! Overall, a fabulous experience with Jaime (pronounced "haimeh"), Adolfo and their team to anyone that wants to do the Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu!”
BEST experience!

“"Really amazing experience with some really great people! This is an awesome way to explore Machu Picchu, learning the history along the way and seeing some amazing sights! The chefs made the best food on the mountain - every lunch, breakfast and dinner was different with an abundance of food and GREAT variety! The porters worked very hard carrying our bags, being friendly and always giving the best service - it is notable that the tour company provides them with good kit, equipment and food. Finally, the guides were both great fun and always tried to ensure we had the best experience. Henry (the younger guide) had a great sense of humour, telling good stories but also helped slower members of the group at the back which enabled the faster ones to go ahead at their pace. Rosel (the head guide) was also very friendly, has an awesome laugh and was very good at organising our time to arrive on time at every point and ensure everyone had the correct kit and equipment, he was also very informative about the history of the Inca Trail. Would definitely recommend and would definitely do it again! One word of warning - naturally you are wild camping so the toilet facilities are not amazing, but it is a small sacrifice for the BEST experience!"”
Highly recommend

“I highly recommend this tour operator for the Inca trail! Our guides, Fletcher and Wilber, were amazing! Their personality and knowledge of the Inca trail and history made for a memorable experience. The food was amazing. They provided a sample of Peruvian culture through their food and stories, all cooked by our own personal chef! The Inca trail was beautiful and the porters worked so hard to make the experience feel even more memorable and comfortable. I can’t say enough about this company and experience. Don’t hesitate and book with them.”

Despite the historical conflict of Cusco, the city is a welcoming and comfortable base from which to explore the intriguing world of the Incas, and the people who still call Cusco home.

Travel Highlights

  • Machu Picchu, the reason many people take a trip to Cusco, is a bucket-list activity like no other. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the most famous treks in the world.
  • The Moray terraces are an impressive display of Inca wisdom. Each with its own microclimate, it’s believed the terraces were used to experiment with crop growth.
